Yo, looking for some advise on the Dam!!! Nice one

Yo, hope eveybody are well. I was only ever over in Amsterdam for a weekend and when i was there I had a bad trip from taking too many mexican mushrooms with a few mad friends. i didn't really enjoy the weekend for obvious reasons. This year I'm going to over on my own to chill out and have a few nice days smoking and looking around before I take a train down to the Summerjam in germany.
I've been looking on the internet for a cool hostel to stay in, and I've seen a few. I need a place with a bar, some cool people and somewhere that doesn't mind people having a smoke. As well as that I'd love to hear suggestions on what there is to do everyday appart from the smoking and drinking.

If anybody has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
