My last clue- you have to think about different meanings to words and splice words together. It's like an anagram clue but more cryptic. And like any good cryptic clue the answer is always staring you in the face, literally. I'm not giving any more clues than that.

They're not designed to be easy cryptic clues :D

Endless coppers in verbal suspension are "hip" (9)

You have to consider what every single word in that clue could mean.

I changed the clue slightly also as I realised last night it didn't quite make sense the way it is meant to be read grammatically, so I added the word verbal. Kind of adds some to the clue as well as making make more sense.

    Other clue again-

Biblical vessel, kind of going up in flames? (6,4)

Roamy, we'll work together on it. I had assumed that "coppers" reffered to the word "pennies". However, it is endless coppers so we take the last letter off whatever word we come up with. So possibly just pennie or even penni. Suspension I thought could be "hang" but verbal suspension could be "silence"...

I've just got it. Take penni and follow the direction of the word "in" in the clue and put it in suspension, or hang.

    penni into the word hang

Hapenning. Another word for "hip"... If you're a beatnik.

Writing it out really helps sometimes!!

So, roamy, just to help you a bit for future cryptic clues, quite often the words are not what they first seem.

Copper can mean a coin, maybe (you already knew that)

    Buzzer can mean a fly.

    Flier can mean a bird.

Grower could mean a child or a plant.

And so on, sometimes you have to convert the meaning of several words in the same clue to get near the answer.

There is already another clue to that clue somewhere in this thread ;)

    I'll rewrite it as-

    1. Assist burning of ancient vessel? (6,4)

Another clue relating to that one.

    2. Leader of 1. could be a prize servant (3,6)

Not giving away the nationality as that would probably make it too easy to google.
