The debate rages throughout the internet What do you hear Yanny or Laurel? I hear Yanny .............I can't believe others hear differently
This was on the news last night. I heard yanny so clearly, I was sure the whole laurel thing was a hoax. Then I found a YouTube video that played with the pitch, and as the pitch went up, I started to hear laurel so clearly that I began to doubt my own sanity. I'm still picking up pieces of my brain.
First time I heard laurel clear as a bell... Now I hear yanny. Edit: Now I can hear both depending on which I focus on.
What you actually are hearing will depend on the frequency range of the device that you are listening to it on. While most everyday inexpensive devices are good in the dialogue frequencies, some music devices can alter them. Maintaining a good dialogue coverage along with impressive music clarity has always been a problem for theater designers, The Royal Albert Hall in London is a good example. Until professor Parkin designed the mushrooms for the promenade concerts in the 1950s, the orchestra had to play in a four poster bed. Since the mushrooms, further improvements have been made, but they have all destroyed the acoustics that the building was designed for. Its massive concert organ. (rarely played today) Even today, vocal works require complex amplification and opera is a disaster. If anyone from the owners of the hall read this and I vanish from HF, you will know that I am floating face down in the River Thames. Parkins mushrooms. (preventing reverberation reflection from the halls dome)
Me and wifey got into a big argument. She yells at me how can you not hear the Yaa Yaa I'm like fucken what! It's Lllllooorr Loorrr like your fucking name, Laura. told her she needed a hearing test. Something ain't right with her.
