Xiu Xiu, or is it Xui Xui? Well anyway the band containing that particular repeated collection of letters has been hammering through my brain for sometime. Elements of Glass, Reich and even Varese can be picked out of the rather neat album called 'Fabulous Muscles'. It takes some of the basic conventions of minimalism and processes it *almost* into tunes, rather agressively. A nice introduction to a sometimes inaccessible genre.
