Well for one I'm not an American so the percentage you have givepn means nothing to me. Secondly, I would prefer the sunshine in the sky rather than blown up my ass. Thirdly, my opinion needs not be affirmed by anyone. I was simply correcting your spelling and letting you know that Gandhi was peaceful, whether he provoked violence or not, it was his reasoning for that which gave off his message of peace.
Ghandi was an important peace-worker,but he wasn't weak...In many ways he was quite a hard character. He had to be very tough to do what he did.
yeah, you're right. there is an important distinction between being non-violent and being peaceful. Ghandi was the former.
People come on these forums all the time and they post and talk, etc Each secretly hoping that someone is going to say the right magic thing eventually and the mass hoards will either rise up or some powerful bigshot will be overcome by their wisdom and change their ways. And guess what?? It never happens. And it's NEVER happened. Oh sure the mass moron surfers will claim that Egypt was liberated because of the Internet. But that's a bunch of horse shit because the Muslim Brotherhood has been planning and trying to cause the revolt for the last 25 years or so. The Internet had sweet fuck all to do with toppling Mubarak. But it's most likely had a hell of a lot to do with instating the new western friendly regime and ensuring Egypt's place inside the United States military industrial complex and the CIA's most important middle eastern base of operations. Nothing will change until people go back to the old ways of getting off their asses and meeting secretly in person. Che Guevara did this and so did Gandhi and so did every single revolutionaire that has ever existed. (Regardless of whatever tactic they choose to use)
Some of these are not difficult to do and I don't think Ghandi would be very insulted that he is still brought up as a shining example of non-violence. -Shopping at thrift stores takes care of the whole shopping thing and making your own clothes thing. You have to take what is relevant to our modern times and our country and apply it. Don't support outsourcing, don't support cheap Chinese made goods, don't support manufacturing excessive plastic materials just because we can. Buy resale items. -Food. Once again, buy local. Support Farmer's Markets. Learn to identify edible weeds. Plant a garden. Save your seeds. -Get your ass kicked on a daily basis? I personally want to avoid the police and live a quiet life, protesting in my own silent way by not using my dollar to support a corrupt economy, but thousands of Occupy protesters got their ass kicked last year and didn't fight back. Maybe a couple of them went on a hunger strike. -Stop paying taxes? I don't really have an answer for that. One could theoretically avoid working for a living (where income taxes are automatically deducted) but you would need to own land....and then you would have to pay property taxes. I don't really know what this thread is about. I didn't watch the video. I just find it silly that you seem to know exactly how Ghandi would feel about being invoked as a source of inspiration in a corrupt society.
I don't really understand what point you are trying to prove here smut peddler. Not one person on this thread has said they are trying to revolt in any way. No one has said 'sweet fuck all' about Egypt or murbarak. Your just arguing with yourself. One person said that Gandhi didn't use violence in response to a comment you made about people apparently thinking facebook is the way to revolt. You wanna know an awesome way to revolt without doing 'sweet fuck all'? Literally, do just that, do nothing, if everyone didnt go to work for one single day then the whole economy would collapse and the powers would have no choice but to listen to their people. Unfortunately not enough people are willing to give up everything in order to achieve this, but a girl can dream.
War is fucking Awesome to an AC/DC soundtrack.. I just hope the shit jumps off before all the good rockers are dead.. Id hate to have to go thru WWIII with Beiber in the Bunker. Suicide pills anyone??..
however you must agree that in OTHER countries social networking (facebook etc) has had significant impacts am political situations.
the only remote reason a world war 3 would happen, is so that a.l.e.c. members, and their equal numbers in other places, could profit from arms sales.
