Also, McConnell has always dragged his feet. Always. It frustrates both sides at times. I think he was a poor choice for the position, but look how he has managed to dig in.
• Mitch McConnell is blocking a fair impeachment trial in the Senate Fair? Oh please, this has been a stupid show since it started. Instead of REAL evidence all they have is hearsay and circumstantial crap they could stick to anyone. There's nothing "fair" about this. I said the same about Clinton's impeachment. (Very NPR use of fair though!)
• The entire Republican party has transformed into the party of Trump lapdogs (but none more than my own Senator Lindsay Graham) Now this is funny. Republicans still hate Trump, he showed everybody what fools they have been. A you see from them is quality acting skills these days. Graham blows with the winds, same as Wallace, same as Kerry.
• Trump has just announced he wont allow John Bolton to testify at his own impeachment trial If it's his option, he'll take it. No shock there. Legal is legal.
• Republican Pacs and interest groups have received millions of dollars from Russian entities since 2016 So have the democrats. Oddly Ukraine contributed the same amount to both!
• Trump is practicing brinkmanship...etc etc...and half the country is acting as if this is all normal. Here I may agree with you, but only because brinkmanship is something very common on the planet right now. This recent shit with Iran is a prime example as is just about everything we hear from North Korea. We have to face the fact that smooth talk and promises of cash and prizes don't always reach people the way we expect. Some of them don't care about that and long for the fight. History is full of such people.

You are forgetting the option that we do not have to follow our leaders at all. If we have to do it blindly I would quit right away. You worded it at first instance either in a real bad and unfortunate way so that everybody else misunderstood, or you're trying to put it like you actually ment something different.
