Just start writing...doesn't matter what it is. Take that writing, show it to people, get feedback, etc...maybe they will think it's great, maybe they will have sugestions, etc. That'll get you back into it...wow I just like stretched this smilie out, that's sweet! :)

Try your hand at a NEW Genr'e.
I write both, Sci-Fi, and "Who dunnit".
And when I get stuck on one or the other,
I use the pages to develope my characters
    a bit more.

Here's an idea: go through the newspaper, and choose at least three 'favorite' sentences from each article - then put them together creatively.

    hi jiffybaby,
i am a free-lance writer and i have found whenever i get blocked, that new things are happening in my life. my life is ready to take a turn for the positive. one thing you can try is to sit down and meditate in a quiet enviornment, when you are calm and at peace, ask your higher self this question? "why am i feeling blocked? what is going on in my life that is blocking me?" the answer will come to you immediately. this is what i always do when i am feeling afraid or have to deal with something that scares me. it's actually self therapy and it always works for me. then when the answer comes to me i can address it and deal with it. let me know how it goes.

It comes and goes, nothing you can do about it.

Find inspiration in different ways. Look at a river for example, pond or whatever...Write what you see and feel. I had writers block for nearly a year and that helped. I was able to later make a poem out of it.

    Just my advice :)

I've been dying for a place to post this idea. This is it.

When I get "Block", I "Let my mind go outside and play" now and then.
When my muse feels like talking to me again, I write.
OR! I'll BAKE something. I have many Muse's.

I agree with Matt...gotta let your mind wander and wonderh what will be your next inspirations! If you put the writting away for a day, or two, you will come back to it with a new perspective and more to write.Or, if you want to try to push through it without a break...just keep writting. You can edit later, just write and your break through the block. When I just write, it doesn't even have to be specifically about the topic, but oftentimes, some new ideas will emerge and I'll link em together. ;)

    I know the problem!

You have to find some energy!

It's really impossible to make yourself do something, or want to do something, when you just don't feel like you have the energy for it.

So you have to go energy-harvesting. For me, the best way to do this is talking to people. It always boosts me up. There are other ways too, and maybe you can find a different way.

(another good energy-harvesting technique: listening to music, and dancing like nobody's business. I do that all the time in my room!)

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Man, drugs do AMAZING things for your creativity.

So you writer's out there I was just wondering from were do you get your inspiration??? I just started writing a new story after having writer's block for about 3 months. My best friend Leslie just inspired the story and now I've been writing non-stop.

Often times I can get inspired by my sub conscious, and write a story related to something on my mind without thinking it.

Other times, I must admit, I'm a sucker for romance, and girls have inspired me many times over.
