I've never been offended by people who smell. They should take better care of themselves, but it is really none of my business if they do or don't.
Indeed. However, people seem to think that having dreadlocks gives you a license to not wash the damn things. Not so, you just don't use ordinary shampoo. Although that tends to be men more ("hey cool I don't have to wash my hair dude far out 420")
I was joking, my love..sorry, thought most people would get that. All of the hippies I've ever known smell pretty good. And if they don't, they smell like a hard days' work or a nice long hike...which I don't really think of as a BAD smell. Mmmm, cuddling up after a long day of hiking...doesn't smell bad at all.
OMG, dreads are hot. On guys and girls alike, forgot about that one. I never used to see them around..but now that I have them I'm seeing them everywhere. Kind of like the pregnancy phenomena..when you or somebody you love is preggers you see pregnant women and babies EVERYWHERE! Most of the people on this site are pretty damn gorgeous, I've noticed. Something in the virtual water, I guess...
i know it's sorta narrow-minded and silly but when i see a guy with long hair and one with short one i'm sure to fall for the first one... long hair is smth wonderful..........
Well, I'm glad you're not offended by people who smell. After all, that is why we were given noses. Now, people who stink...that's a different matter...
With internet, humor there is always the exception.....and I thought I was like most people. LOL I do suppose not knowing you and your sense of humor, I didn't understand the joke. I guess it is because I have heard so many times references to "dirty Hippies", or "smelly hippies", and I usually go off on the same rant when I hear this. Many people think hippies with beards and long hair look and are unclean. This is a mistaken stereotype we all know, but still it persists. I just heard a joke in a movie called "Hippies" where one straight dude asks another where to hide something from a hippie.? The answer was "under the soap". (Ha ! Ha! ) I just looked up and saw your name "knotdirty". Is this a reaction to some implication about hippie hygiene?
Asmodean: I guess that is an oxymoron.. How about a hard days chillin? Hard days protest? Hard days night? Yeah, that's it. A.B.E. I can see how you'd be upset. If I heard anybody call any group of people dirty, much less the group I relate to most...well I'd set them straight for sure. What I meant when I said I thought most people'd get it was that in a hippie forum I figured nobody would seriously think that hippies in general are dirty or smelly. And I forget sarcasm doesn't travel well over the interweb...next time I'll throw one of these guys in. or this dude, knotdirty...just a little pun. It's referring to my knots, just saying that NO, dreadlocks are "not dirty." I suck at usernames...can never think of what to call myself. I usually just do AmberKay but that one was taken.
Yeah, long hair can be such a turn on.... But, you know what's even better?...Short hair and side-burns... Mmmmmmmm......
I agree we hippie guys are hot but I agree more, hippie chics rock. Long hair and sexy hippie clothes. It's just too bad that I feel so old with some of the hippie chic ages here, lol.
