wow, and i always thought the gateway theory was bullshit

Oh wait.. I've seen you in the Amsterdam forum right? Sure.. if I've got the time we can meet up!.. Actually.. we (my bf and I) are in third place on a waitinglist for a house in Amsterdam now sooooo.. maybe I'll be living in Amsterdam in the near future! Yeay!

 

I would just like to point out the fact that Amsterdam has lowest rate of users of drugs other than weed in the world. In my opinion this fact kinda shits on the gateway theory. The reason people go to harder drugs is because when they're smoking weed they're already doing something illegal, so they think "hey harder drugs are illegal as well and i can get away with smoking weed so why can't i get away with doing harder drugs?" . With weed legal, people wouldn't feel the need to attempt something illegal when they can just get high with weed.

 

Gateway theory is mostly bs.You friend didn't smoke crack because he smoked weed.He smoked crack because he is stupid no offense.

 

I think the gateway thoery depends on the person. I started smoking pot when I was 12 and when I was older, I just wanted to try anything I had the opportunity to try. And I have. But I don't do any drugs regularly and I wouldn't say pot was the reason. Many people are perfectly satisfied with just pot.

others though, they think that they've already tried pot, what's worse about other drugs? and then they slip into a bad pattern.

 

i was thinking about this. ok say if weed was legal where i live, for me to get the weed ill go to more safer sources to buy eg. a herbal shop or sumthin. with weed being legal u prevent people from dealing with dealers that sell harder and more unsafe drugs. and 99.9% the dealers who sell weed also sell or have contacts for other drugs. now being human if u know ure dealer got other stuff u will wanna try it or something. thats very tempting for any1, especially for teens.

now moving to reality where i live possession of weed is illegal. and its because of this i now do other drugs. so in a way from my own personal expierence i believe weed in a way is a gateway drug but thats only because the govt made it illegal.

anyways i dont know howmuch sense that made but i hope u guys get my point(if there is any)

 

I think I get your point. If it was legal kids wouldn't think, "well, I already broke the law. This is no worse"
