    Squirrel pie or fried worms?

I think I'd take the squirrel pie.

it depends on whether squirrel pie means a pastry crust filled with squirrel meat, or a squirrel's vagina.

It might depend on how many worms I would have to eat, and how big the slice of pie is.

Isn't Squirrel a common item on menus down in the Southern States?

Maybe Squirrel sounds a little less disgusting.

Ok I will add portions. 1/8th of an 9 inch double crust squirrel pie or 8 deep fried earthworms. By volume I think the worms are less.

Wow, really breaking it down there lol.

I'd go with the pie, but I'd eat either one or both if I'm being paid for it :D

If you think about it tho... deep fried worms... after you deep fry em it's probably nothing but crunchy skins LOL

Do we have to choose? I'm curious and have not tried either of these dishes before.

I wouldn’t mind trying some Klingon “Gagh” (serpent worms) but they must be fresh and alive [IMG]

i've had skwirl stew. (i'd swear that's what the mystery meat had to have been) too many little bones and i'd rather see the little tree rats running around alive and happy.

worms i wouldn't know how to prepare. i think you'd have to breed them for flavor.

Since I have eaten squirrel....but never worms, I think I'd go for the worms. I try not to miss new experiences, well...unless I think they would hurt me.

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms!
    Big fat juicy ones,
    Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm!
Down goes the first one, down goes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm!

Finally someone picked the worms. I think I made one opting clearly better, none of you seem to have issues eating squirrel. It is not something consumed around here.

So let's revise the question. Would you rather eat a mud pie or the 8 worms. This time you only have to eat a few bites of mud pie, not a whole slice, so by volume the pie is less. Let's also say the mud pie is clean mud, as in no creepy crawlys to be found in there.

Well, I don't eat squirrel anymore....ick...but as I kid I was raised on what the men hunted for. My grandma made squirrel a lot. I would still choose worms over mud I think...be hard to swallow mud, and I wonder about the digestion factor.

I think I'd eat the mud pie. There is just something about eating worms.... ekkk

I have a feeling digesting some dirt is probably tolerable if it's only a few bites. I feel like it might even clean out some parts of me as it goes through lol.

I do think that eating a little dirt is good for us but the smell of worms makes me want to heave.

    Squirrel it is then. :)

    Hello,

that reminds me of something. As a young lad I often went fishing and I was into books about that topic, especially older books from the 1950 and earlier. I remember one book about breeding your own maggots (used as baits). The author stated that fishes like them best if you grow them on milk and bran. And then there were the ones grown on liver. I forget if that makes good bait or if that are the worse ones. So the taste and smell changes with their diet, which somehow makes sense. A friend of mine eats grasshoppers and he says he can taste it when the green comrades have eaten stronger tasting herbs.

    Regards
    Gyro

  23. I have a problem eating squirrel. Yeck! I would choose the worms any day of the week.
