Haven't we learned from the errors of any of the sci fi books, which the authors of these very tomes predicted ahead of time about? If you want to upgrade yourself? Learn some methods of hacking the brain, because there has yet to be any sort of electronic technology more advanced the the wrinkly machinery we already have in our heads. Our DNA is also far more complex than any computer program or software written, so much so, that nobody has yet to be able to create it from scratch, or managed to keep it in a stable state after being cloned.

It doesn't matter on the data storage, it is the fact that you are walking around with a wireless transmitter implanted in your hand that houses all your info on it and you would be OK with a hackable devise implanted on you?

I can see if you have medical problems and want to update your med alert bracelet, then maybe, but beyond that, no way.

 

nah, i wouldnt REALLY get one, but if the information is stored on each person wouldnt that make it kinda susceptible to tampering? then I could make my information say whatver I wanted .. of course I'd assume that there would be some kind of encryption or secure hashing/checksum on the data but the fact that it has to be able to be read and updated by numerous different parties means it would have to be less than bulletproof.

 

as far I know it dont do anything but confirm you are you,, much like a fingerprint. all other data is stored elsewhere, not in the id chip itself..

I'm going to play devils advocate on this one as someone who has had to deal with bureaucracy.

About 5 years ago the state of California did fingerprinting and a background check on everyone who does my job. They checked about 400,000 people. About 2 months after my background check they stopped paying me because they hadn't cleared my Social Security Number.

That was just with 400,000 people. How the fuck do you think they are going to do that to 7 billion people?

How are you going to continuously power an rfid chip?

Who is going to keep tabs on 7 billion people?

What possible reason would anyone have to chip 7 billion people?
