You have the wrong idea. The more capitalist a government becomes, the more religious its population becomes, with lifelong atheists in China today converting to Christianity in record numbers. To them, religion is not merely some old man in the sky with a long beard, but what you use to organize against corrupt governments. Those countries which merely provide an extensive social security network are usually capitalist, but capitalist with a heart and brain. As result, within a generation their population largely becomes agnostic and spiritual, but they never give up their religious roots. Their religions may corrupt their governments and vice versa, because without some kind of alternative to the government things get ugly fast.

Governments and religions fight to determine what kind of governments and religions people adopt.

The Chinese find the idea of the "Holy Trinity" exotic but, otherwise, Christianity is just more modern entertainment to many of them. Mainstream BS that is essentially no different from what their old Taoist and Buddhist temples taught, even though their temples taught such things as the belief that the human body alone contains no less than 8,000 gods. Westerners think they know everything, but they have nothing to teach Asians about religion, except how to apply it better to modern economics. The Chinese see all of our lowbrow slapstick, but they also see it makes money, so they are pragmatically willing to make the compromise to the best of their ability. Christianity has THE proven record in capitalist countries... so why not? Its just more mainstream BS you either use to your advantage or not.

Western obsessions with such things can make them go cross-eyed. India has more religions than cells in the human body I swear.

LOL, China is now the largest exporter in the world and basically owns the third world. The idea they will suddenly over take the US and become the high tech leaders of the world is a fantasy their leadership encourages among the peasants. However, they graduate 400,000 engineers alone every year to our 40,000 and have created an extensive highway system like the US, with all the other Asian countries following suit. Without at least roads, their economy is going nowhere.

As far as Trump is concerned, China will wait patiently for either WWIII to break out or Americans to actually form a real government.

LOL, the Chinese have higher IQs than westerners or anyone else, and use more parts of their brains for language, making them particularly good at certain things like quantum mechanics. Despite this, the only reliable measure for anyone's career potential is the amount of working memory they possess, while the medical industry is making enormous strides right now with being able to implant any memories they want directly into your brain, and is working hard on brain prosthetics that can dramatically improve memory. Something as simple as the tiniest electromagnetic stimulation of the scalp using EEGs can automatically make you Stephen Hawking when studying for examines. This expert of theirs will soon be replaced by AI programs, which are not so easily fooled by 2,000 year old logic.
