How is a "citizen organization" going to stand up to a huge corporation, lets say DOW chemical, that starts dumping stuff in the river instead of proper disposal in order to increase profits? They can't!

Yes the EPA isn't perfect, needs repair, etc. But without some kind of over site companies will just dump it out the back door and we will be able to set rivers on fire just like it was before the EPA. ("Land owners rights" and "citizens organizations" are NOT good enough to stand against huge corporations so don't tell me that's going to work)

Companies are supposed to have liability. I just posted this whole 3 paragraph thing then erased it by accident. But the government are rich elitest who take legal bribes from businessmen. I wouldn't trust that they are in fact doing what they're supposed to be.

But with government over site there's no telling what's really going on, because the government can just deem the documents "classified." Look at all the corrupt stuff the CIA does (Operation Northwoods.) The fact of the matter is that the people aren't aware of what's actually going on, back in the day it was easy because logging is easy to notice. These days, the governments involved in all sorts of corruption; smuggling guns into mexico, allowing drug cartels to smuggle drugs into America and then, arresting the little guy for having a little bit of marijuana. So government agencies really can't be trusted in that sense. The people should be allowed to have overview and more importantly a decision in every aspect of the federal government, otherwise we'll never be free again.

Liability after the damage is done is a joke, the damage has been done and very rarely can it be undone. How much of a chance is the little guy going to have in court against the number of lawyers a corporation can put on a case?

Obama is a failure, Romney would be a failure in office. The only person who can help us is Dr. Ron Paul. You can nit pick all you want but obama is just as bad as Bush.

The EPA allows corporations to pollute waste as long as they pay a fine afterwards. These fines are like speeding tickets to large companies....is that not "liability after the job is done?" I've dealt with this first hand and have also seen what happens when a company has a "good relationship" with the EPA.

I'd like to see the elimination of the EPA, but the creation of State ran orginizations who actually have a vested interest in the land and air that they are trying to protect. These organizations could represent the citizens and be completely transparent. I think that would be entirely more effective than the EPA

Sound feasible but would still require some over site as pollution from one state can effect many states that may have different pollution laws. I am not saying the EPA does not need a overhaul, it does as well as the rest of our government on both state and federal levels. RP as far as I understand has no environmental plan other than sue the company responsible, thats not going to work.

What happened to "Worst President of US"?
Laws are created to define conduct we are expected to live within, and we, both people and corporations are held liable for conduct that exceed the boundaries defined in our laws.
Should members of a society, as a more effective preventative measure, be held liable for damages they have not done? While some forms of damage can be undone, other forms cannot, and as such we are left only with the application of some form of punishment as a result. A life taken cannot be restored, no matter how many or how good your lawyers are, but the little guy does often prevail in cases against corporations and can collect exorbitant sums for some trivial claims.

When Ronnie Raygun took office, the national debt was less than one trillion dollars. He promised to balance the budget in his first four years as POTUS. He never submitted one single balanced budget in his eight years. When he left office the national debt was $2.5 trillion, almost tripled the debt.

Shrub daddy almost doubled the national debt again in only four years, to $4.5 trillion.

Clinton only added one trillion to $5.5 trillion in his eight years. But also balanced the budget and left office with a $300 billion annual surplus.

Shrub Jr. turned that $300 billion surplus into a $300 billion deficit in only six months, and doubled the national debt again adding over $6 trillion, to almost $12 trillion. More than all the presidents added together.

Obama has added almost $4 trillion, mostly cleaning up the economic collapse that Shrub Jr. left him with.

But the worst has to be Lincoln. He started the civil war that killed 750,000 Americans.

George W. Bush, with no one else coming close. An imbecilic war-monger who was nothing but a puppet of Daddy Bush, James Baker, and Dick Cheney, et al. I think there's a special place in hell reserved for people like him
