Fair enough, I have an almost opposite political stance from my dad, but my family is dysfunctional. I think you will find that race has very little to do it, and the true source of the large percentage you quote is more a result of economics, and certain demographics being purposefully disadvantaged for decades. If you polled the ritzier neighborhoods, I am quite sure you would find that the Republican party is favored across all ethnic backgrounds.
I doubt the Republicans will say much, for fear of losing votes, and agree with you about what they will do and will not do. For me, abortion is between the woman, her doctor, and Spirit, and no one else. Especially not a man, since though we can claim we'd never do it, we could never have that option, so it is a moot point. I believe men have no ability or right to judge becuz of that. Also, other women do not either, since they have no clue what the circumstances are. Sure, murder is wrong, but there are serial killers and child molesters I would gladly kill myself,(hopefully I will get over this),and I have never met a woman who was 'happy' to have an abortion, it was considered necessary. Just my opinion.
Exactly but..we are going to HELL..because of this belief, or we are voting democrat..and thank you for your comment..it's ok to fight for unborn children but damnit nothing is going to change it, abortion will still be legal..why can't we fight for the ones that are getting murdered everyday..the innocent ones that are getting blown up by the bombs, the ones that are over there getting kidnapped..begging for their lives and ending up getting beheaded..what about...OUR SOLDIERS! .If this war didnt happen these people wouldn't be dead..that's what im saying
I can say this, just becuz you would eat it does not make it right. What if the choice was your life or the life of the last of an endangered species like the Vancouver Island Marmot. Would you eat the last breeding pair of them, or let them live, being certain it would cost you your life. Myself, I find humans quite arrogant regarding our fellow creatures, and would let them live. I have felt for many years that Genesis should have been interpreted and taught that we have 'stewardship' not 'dominion' over the animals, as this might have made us a little more caring about their habitat and survival. I wish I could have seen a Stellar's Sea Cow, but we killed them off over 200 years ago. I would have gladly given my life so they could survive, heck, there are 6 000 000 000 humans, so it would not endanger us any.
I agree, it is oil. Power, control, territory, wealth, these are always the roots of wars no matter what the surface excuse is. I too feel deeply for the men and women whose lives are being sacrificed for these things. One other point that comes to my mind is the thousands of children in Africa that starve to death every week. In Canada, and I know in the US in the past too, food has been destroyed rather than be sold at a loss, since that would have dropped the price further therefore it was not economically logical...... There has always been enough food, why can't we be more loving and share it? That is one of our greatest shames, in my view. Sometimes it may be justified to go to war to end a criminal leader's genocidal reign of terror, but what I have seen is that it is always selective. The dictators in Indonesia were never threatened, and very few people even know about the Rwandan civil war that claimed over 500 000 lives. At that exact time, the newspapers were full of stories about the 5 000 or so casualties in Bosnia. What made those 5 000 so much more newsworthy than the other 500 000? It is all nearly too much for me to take....
My heart is open to all faiths, ethnicities, and lifestyles, whether I agree with them or not. There are a few exceptions, such as serial killers and molesters, which I have not been able to find it in my heart to forgive, and so I would still gladly off them. The idea that late term abortions were stopped only becuz of a Republican President is highly unlikely. Whatever party was in power would do what the public demands, except in very rare cases, and so I do not for a moment doubt the Democrats would have done the same. I think the point you are not hearing, Campbell, is that abortion is not looked upon by Pro choice people as some jolly good time. It is a very traumatic and sad event, like you say, murder. The women who have them carry that decision with them every day of their lives. I decided long ago that I have no right to judge them, and that from then on my goal would be to support and comfort those women in their time of need. You seem to lump them in with Ted Bundy, whereas I look at them as being my sisters, in need of emotional support at a time when they feel very guilty, sad, and vulnerable. Their abortions are none of your business, in my view, and if you feel different, I hope you know how much your self righteous words of condemnation hurt some of them, and may even drive some to commit suicide. Is that your goal? Would you impose capital punishment on them? I sure would not, and I repeat, getting an abortion is a traumatic and life changing thing for most women. They do not need us wagging our fingers, but instead they need us opening our arms and hearts, and ears to their pain.
they were found in limestone strata, so no. Imagine a wave 5 miles high, the ark would be toothpix. I never cease to be amazed at the lack of study I observe in some viewpoints. maybe have a peek at a geology book, it is all in there.
-I do care about God's creatures as it says in Luke, Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. I do care about the creatures of God as does God but to say that they are more important than a human life, that simply is not true- the reason why the whole world was created is for humans animals are just on the side for the humans. Keep in mind what it says in mattew: So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
I could not disagree more. We did not create the web of life, but are merely one strand in it. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Chief Seattle animals just on the side? i so disagree.
Regarding Armageddon, the Rapture, the Apocalypse, whatever you want to call it. I say, Bring it on! and please hurry, the sooner the better, we need a serious wake up call down here. The wait is getting unbearable.
You have touched on something that not alot of people know about..And i totally agree with you on everything you said, you are compassionate and caring and kind and you don't push your views on anyone, you just state how you feel from your heart..it's a pleasure to read your posts, and a pleasure to have someone in a debate that doesn't jump at you because you don't have the same beliefs as that person
Thank you so much, you are very kind, and i appreciate the compliments. I find that your posts are very caring as well, and you sound wise beyond your years. I used to be a straight A debater in school, but I grew tired of debate, so I just try to find common ground now. Like Abraham, father of Jews, Christians, and Muslims. And I have this belief that since we are all individuals, and we all see reality from a different perspective, we all have different, yet valid truths. That is my reason for accepting others beliefs as being just as true, real, and valid as mine. And I appreciate when others pay me the same respect, but I don't expect or need their approval. I found out that as my self esteem level rose around the age of 30, other people's insults, baiting, and superiority complexes meant less and less to me. I rarely take any of it personally, since I did not say it, and don't believe it, and don't really care what negative attacks others feel it is necessary to send my way. I say go for it, but if they want me to reply in a serious manner, stick to the point, and forget the petty name calling etc. I sure wish I knew what you know at 22, when I was 22. Maybe someday I will share just how immature I was at that age. I did have fun though.
I really wonder if you ever watch the news, the bill to stop late term abortions was introduced to Bill Clinton during his administration. Guess what? He vetoed it as soon as it got to his desk. The democratic party will never try and support a bill that would protect the life of the unborn. I'm sure any party would do the same? I can't even believe you made that statement. WOW are you informed. President Bush, the man that many here say is a terrible person, is the one who had the compassion to sign the bill. Before he was elected he stated if that bill ever came across his desk he would sign it in a minute, which he did. This is a historical fact. And so you are now going to support and comfort those woman who will choose to murder there baby. And yes they feel guilty because they murdered their own child. And your support of this makes you just as guilty as them. Abortion is none of your business. That was the same arguement given during slavery. It's none of my business to tell a slave owner what he or she should do with their slaves. Republicans took the high ground on slavery and they are taking the high ground on abortion. And there is no doubt in my mind that if this was the Cival War you would be on the side of the south, just as you are now on the side of abortion rights. My goal is to stop murder your goal is to accept it. I donot believe in capital punishment. Yes any time you murder a person it is a life changeing and traumatic event, and this activity should never be supported by a responsible government. It is truly amazing to me how you will talk about the killing of the children in our present war, but how all of you turn a deaf ear to the millions of children that are murdered through abortion. And while this murder continues you make the statement how you will support these woman who do the murdering. The only word that comes into my head at this kind of incosistency, is HYPOCRISY. Woman who choose to murder I don't worry about their pain, I worry about the little inocent lives these monsters kill. And it sickens me to see people support these atrocities, and then get up on their moral band wagon, and talk about their concern about children dieing in a war overseas. The only time you guys worry about a child dieing, is when it's benefical to your candidate.
I havent had tv for 7 years, so no, I dont ever watch the news, what did I miss? Man do I find it offensive when you compare abortion and slavery. I dated a black woman for five years, and she also found that arguement offensive, it is an oldie, but a baddie. I will gladly be a hypocrite, and will stand along side these women forever. And if some nutbar, like that wacko a few years ago who was actually shooting doctors to show his LOVE?????????, was to aim at one of these ladies, I would jump in front of her. If you were Muslim, you would be ashes at ground zero right now. Religious fundamentalism is so hateful and hurtful and detached from the here and now and loving one another, that it almost gets my hackles up.
and another thing, Jesus was a Jew for Pete's sake, so if you want to follow him you should convert to Judaism, He never started a new religion, It was Paul, who is called "The Great Liar" in the scrolls. I call your religion Paulianity or Paulism when I feel that the person I am conversing with is being an asshole. Not that you are, I am just saying, if you were.... John the disciple was a woman named Joanna, re read Luke.
Your right, slavery is not nearly as bad as murder. And Christian fundamentalist are not the one's supporting the cutting off of human heads. It's actually certain Muslim fundamentalist, and Americans supporting the womans right to choose. And what you missed is Democrat Bill Clinton's veto of a Bill to stop late term abortions. And it is the hateful Christian fundamentalist who are trying to save life. And apparently loving one another is only for those who are not murdered in the woman's body. And Jesus was a Jew but the Jews rejected Him. So if I wanted to follow Jesus, why would I follow a faith that Hated Him? And the woman that you once dated may of found what I said offensive because she is now in the place of the white slave owner, and does not believe these children are human.
you have no clue what she believes, she is damn proud of her African heritage. If I tortured you your whole life or just killed you now, which is worse? What about that Christian terrorist McVeigh who blew up babies? Jesus followed Judaism, so what if some leaders disagreed with him, it doesnt make him not Jewish. What was he, christian......
I saw a cold case where a christian man killed his family because he thought they would be happier with god, then in this "evil-stricken" world.
