Take a look at the collapse of the dollar, oil prices declining, gold dropping, China slowing, Australia mining slowing. This will be the start, only until these declining stock are all bought up on the cheap, will War break out and only for the rich to reap the rewards......again. WW2, it certainly help move out of the later stages of the depression.

China anyone? Both the US and China would benefit from war. Russia may not be directly included but will reap rewards from weapon sales to China. The downfall is the unpredictability of NK. They will be held back by SK and Japan but Un and his itchy trigger finger may start pressing buttons just because he can. Again, Russia won't jump in but will sit back and benefit. Then take over as the 'Top World Dog'

Korea is just talk, now. Un is arrogant but I think even he knows he will not win on his own. It is just an annual ploy by NK to maintain some sort of relevance. But if a war between China and the US unravels, be sure he will take his chance.

Regional wars a good for law passing (terrorism laws), an excuse to keep troops in the region and to keep "citizens" at a high level of unease.

I'm out of the stock market now. Made my money on fb and then hauled ass. I don't disagree with anything you said, xenxan.. and I'd quote it if I could get the dang thing to work. I just don't think it'll be global war. China doesn't even need to go to war. All it has to do is call in its markers. Refuse to roll over TBills and the like. It would cripple this country with nary a bullet being fired. It's all a big juggling act.

Either way.. we'll be fine on this farm. I was very careful WHERE we bought this land and what attributes I wanted the place to have. I'm not a prepper or a survivalist but there's a lot to be said for growing one's own food and having year-round springs.

We can hope, but we have to adjust to the fact this is our 3d world, like it or not, we need to see the positive in the worlds people instead of the negativity of the few. Sadly the few are what generate the global hate and the news media and social media are the vehicles.

i think its a fantasy of bored militants who are obsessed by ideological fanatacism. there might be enough of them to do it, but a lot of other things are more likely to happen first.

(i mean on both sides of course. belligerents don't need an excuse, but when they need to involve everyone else, like they would for something on that scale, then the need a way to convince everyone else to go along with them. that's what ideology was invented for.)

 

I became interested in this when I started to notice the various countries position themselves for war. Just this week the USA placed NEW nukes in eastern Europe. In Syria the Russians have put troops on the ground and jets in the air. Putin has warned the USA about "ACCIDENTS" in the air. I think something is brewing behind the scenes.

 

There is always stuff brewing behind the scenes. Doesn't mean WW3 is about to happen though. Ok, we could say that ever since the atomic bomb was created we are on that brink... but as long as no one who has them wants to push the button WW3 isn't closer then yesterday.

There is a bunch of new military activity every day in the nations that surround Russia. And the Russians are doing military activity right up against these borders, including the Syrian Coast, and Syrian Airspace. Putin has warned about accidents.
