I think you might have picked the right word there *exploit.* Imo, if certain groups did not latch onto multi-nationals their campaigns would wither away. The best way to keep a profile is go after a huge company that everybody knows. After a while it doesn't matter how legitimate the accusations are. If a campaign is for the promotion of breastfeeding - great. Oh, well, actually, the two major groups I have heard about are "'infant health campaigners'" - sorry. It does seem most industries have to have their bogymen and a lot of the campaigns feel the same. For instance the Nestle Boycott feels a lot like the Coke Boycott. Imo, Nestle were off the hook about 30 years ago. Now a lot of it feels like pettiness.
