Who's participated? We've done the SF ride, which sucks, and the Portland ride this year, which was joyous and amazing.
Old thread, but WNBR still great fun. I did it in LA this past summer. Most people are surprisingly ok with nudity... this is in La La land though.
I've not, and don't even do clothed ones. I think they have lost their purpose which is a protest against car dependency, the nudity being about vulnerability. A protest I liken to the PETA I'd rather be naked than wear fur.
London in particular seems to have a large proportion clothed because there are so many photographers. Noticeable that some other places have more naked people.
Why can you be naked one day in London but not another. The law in the UK is an are. For that reason, I don't take part. Carrot and stick. Come on very body it's OK, the next day big brother will beat you with the stick and make you a criminal what a load of bollocks, in my opinion. Imagine, the outcry if you were only allowed to be lbgt+q etc for just one day a year.
I think it's treated as a protest event. Though I think its original purpose of being naked as showing vulnerability against car dependency has long been lost.
Watched the WNBR in Madison, WI an number of years ago. Looked like a lot of fun for both participants and spectators alike.
I would love to do this, but haven't seen any organized lately here in SoCal. Regarding bike seats - my wife and I ride ElliptiGO bikes (no seats), so no issues with soft tissue abrasions.
Pretty big one in Vancouver BC each year (Gromet801 you are half way there at Oregon’s) My brother has done it a few times… Says it’s a laugh - I have always wanted to join him but my riding skills need a little work first, getting old and lazy - I would be walking first hill I came to…. Haha
