The only reason I want France to win is because my girlfriend is from France. But they tied 1-1 and got screwed over on their 2nd goal. 2 points will not do it. Because Togo will have 3 with a win and Switzerland will have 4 points with a win. So France needs to win, or if they tie again, hope Switzerland and Togo tie as well and than hope Korea and Switzerland tie in their last game.

But you should chill on that stereotypical "frog" BS. Derogatory name calling isn't cool dude, especially when it isn't true about the country in question. Maybe the players are arrogant, but that has no barring on the people.

Yah I remember hearing that. Korea has some good players. They are likely to advance at this point.

If I remember rightly, they managed to beat eliminate Italy from the 2002 World Cup.

England team how it should be
    ------------------ROBINSON----------------------------
    G.NEVILLE----RIO---------KING--------------A.COLE
    -------------HARGREAVES/CARRICK----------------------
    GERRARD(C)---------LAMPARD--------------J.COLE---------
    -------------OWEN--------ROONEY----------------------

England CAN win it, if SGE gets his tactics and team selection right.

I personally can't see McClaren doing any better myself, as he was part of the coaching set-up during SGEs' 5 year tenure.

Having said that, he will be an improvement on SGE, and he is an Englishman after all.

John Terry should be the England captain, with Gerrard as second-choice captain.

I think that England have had stupid managers in the past like Graham Taylor, Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Keegan, but Sir Bobby Robson and Terry Venables did well.

I personally would have chose Stuart Pearce to be England boss, and when you listen to him talking, and with the way he is, he seems like he means no nonsense.
Also, he is a passionate Englishman, and he would instill passion and pride back into the players.

Joe Cole was THE man of the match for me.

Englands' defending tonight was abysmal, and John Terry isn't as good as he is made out to be.

He committed foul after foul, and was at fault for Swedens' 2nd goal, but having said that, Jamie Carragher was just as bad, and if you watched one of the replays carefully, you can see that Carragher put the ball in the net with his hand.

Rio Ferdinand and Sol Campbell played well tonight, whereas the other defenders played poorly.

    Joe Cole was fantastic tonight.

Didn't think much of Rooney's little tantrum, very unprofessional. You wouldn't catch Dennis Bergkamp doing something like that ;)

Ljungberg's booking was ridiculous. Looking at the stats Sweden were lucky to get the draw but they fought back well and I think they deserved it.

Quote of the day from the BBC: "That's an agricultural clearance by England..."

At the end of the day it doesn't matter, we finished top. But I agree that the defending is a bit of a worry, Rio and Sol are dependable as usual but the other defenders are lacking. I've noticed a few instances where Ashley Cole has tried to get up front but left a gap at the back that the opposition capitalise on when they break.

I agree with everything you've said there, and I think that Rooneys' tantrum was childish and unprofessional - He's 20 years old for gods sake, and he is acting like a little kid!!!

I didn't really notice Ljungbergs' booking, so I can't comment on that.

Englands' match was on ITV, NOT the BBC, and even that quote was a daft way to describe Englands' defending.

Greentree, what football CLUB to do you support?

I support Manchester United, and my favourite player was Roy Keane, and I do miss him at times, because he was a strong player, with a big presence and influence on the team, and I'd just wish that Man Utd had a decent leader that would start having a go at his team-mates when they aren't performing!!!

Gary Neville is too nice, and spends more time gobbing off the pitch (in the tabloids) than on it. He goes on about how Man Utd will "bounce back" and all that crap, saying that they can win this and that.

Talk is cheap, and I just wish that players would stop talking the talk, and walk the walk!!!

I think that the commentary and punditry by some people on the BBC is crap.
Ian Wright is just a dickhead, Muck McCarthys' big Yorkshire accent is annoying, and i'm sure that most people would rather listen to a drill at it's highest decibel!!!

I really don't know what the hell they pay Ian Wright for, and after one match, he refused to give his opinion because he was more bothered about England!!!

Well Ian, what the hell do the BBC pay you for then!!???
You are paid to be a pundit, provide some analysis, and give your opinion.
YOU'RE BLOODY AWFUL, AND IF I WAS IN CHARGE OF THE BBC, I'D SACK YOU STRAIGHT AWAY!!! - YOU AREN'T FUNNY AND ARE JUST A COMPLETE AND UTTER ARSEHOLE!!!

Muck McCarthy got the sack as Sunderland manager, and the reason he is a commentator on the BBC is because he is currently unemployed, and has nothing better to do than talk a load of crap and state the obvious, and the same goes for Mark Lawrenson!!!

Garth Crooks, Alan Shearer, Leonardo and Gavin Peacock aren't much good either.

ITV is far superior in my opinion, and at least Sam Allardyce, Stuart Pearce and Terry Venables talk proper sense, and unlike the clowns at the BBC.

The only thing I don't like about ITV is the commentary of Gareth Southgate and David Pleat - Southgate is as bad as McCarthy, but minus the Yorkshire accent, because he states the obvious, and Pleat is just dull and states the obvious.

Nothin wrong with ya man, Futbol is indeed the best sport on the planet. Just look at the emotion of the players (mexicos keeper, spain's Fernando Torres, Raul, etc) and even the fans (many are crying and such). This world cup has been BAD ASS so far. And yes, joe cole had a beauty of a goal today for england (poor england....sucks to be owen)

-FRINGS still holds the best goal i have seen as of yet however from the first match of the entire cup i believe. It was one of the coolest goals i have ever seen actually.

I am goin for the americans, being a native to the land. However when they get knocked out here soon i am going for SPAIN baby. Ive always loved em, an you gotta love their young talented squad. They are fun to watch. This years world cup HAS GOT to have one of those under-achieving teams ala spain and england do well. I can just feel an exciting world cup that will be unlike any other as of yet. Everyone must tune in for the netherlands v argentina match tommorow (Wed. June 21st) and also for a good Portugal v Mexico showdown. Its gonna be a good day. And following that we have USA v Ghana, Italy v Czech and Brazil v their....prey
