Who has to work on Saturdays around here? I do and it sucks. Having to get up when you know most people get to have a play day. This time of year I have to work almost every Saturday. Being self employed I try to work about half of them the rest of the year. Happy Saturday no matter what you are doing today but a special happy Saturday to my fellow weekend workers.
i often have to go into lab on saturday or sunday to monitor my experiments or set something up for monday. i hardly ever go in for more than an hour or two, but it's still pretty difficult to motivate myself to go in early, and i end up not going until night time. i have to go today and probably tomorrow.
I'm working today and tomorrow (half days) but all my overtime is voluntary. I like having the option.
I mostly work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, normally have college classes in the week. IRS not ideal working on weekends. But I deal with it. Normally go in at 11 get out at 7 latest w close at 6 but closing procedure Leads us to get out later.
Ahwile ago the only work I did was on saturdays. Since I was free the rest of the week I saw little reason to complain about it
I'm self-employed and work Saturdays only when I want to. But the work I do on Saturdays earns me a pretty substantial amount of money so I don't bitch about it much. It's not like anyone is forcing me to go do it.
I would say working weekends is a pretty normal thing for most people unless they have government jobs. I work every other weekend, and this weekend happens to be my weekend to work. But I don't go in until 11:00 tonight.
I can assure you that over here in the Netherlands working on weekends is not a pretty normal thing for most people. Mostly for teenagers and students to earn a little extra.
Depends entirely on the kind of work, mate! I know lots of adults as well who work on weekends. Especially self employed people so it seems but also factory workers for example.
I work Saturdays. I do it all the time. Today I started at 7am. So not only a Saturday but damn early, too. Plus I cycled to work (30 minutes). The shift lasts 12 LONG hours. I think I win.
