Skunks. A small number of striped skunks are thought to be living in the wild in Britain. The animals, native to North America, were de-scented and kept as exotic pets during the Eighties and Nineties until new legislation put paid to the practice. Several sightings have been reported in and around the Forest of Dean.

There's a movie where the Latin detective says to his American female colleague, "It's been awhile since we've slept together." and she answers, "We don't sleep, we fuck."

At least the Brits bizarre word,'shagging', are like us, more to the point. With a touch of decorum.

What is the slang word for broke?

Down and out. skint (British, slang) strapped for cash (informal) dirt-poor (informal) flat broke (informal)

(usually postpositive) (Brit, slang) without money. a variant of skinned, past participle of skin. Word origin and history for skint: adj. "broke, out of money," 1925, slang variant of skinned, past participle of skin (v.).

I did a search of the thread and found nothing. For an unimpressed response "You don't say" is peculiar to the UK.
