My postcount has just surpassed showmet's Sorry I'm sure this means nothing to anyone but me...
Does that include the 500 odd (yes they were all very odd) posts Showmet had on Hipforums The Original Series?
Yes, I've been logging all my posts in a ledger, cross referenced against topic, post length and time of day and running statistical analyses of how my posting rates, patterns and choices of subject compare to those of the historical showmet. I've also been breaking down all the words used and ranking them according to how many times each word and each constituent letter occurs in my posts and in showmet's. Either that or I just came across one of my old posts and noticed the post count under the name, I forget which
I have an idea, why dont these forums encourage a star system. The more stars the more privaleges and then work toward being forum moderater or watchers who merely keep a watch out for dodgy threads or potential for mania? COngratulations on your post count.
Well, I wasn't really boasting ... I'm aware it can be seen as something to be ashamed rather than proud of....
Well your post count determines whether you're a guest, member or senior member. I don't think there's any difference between the latter two, but members can access a few restricted forums that guests can't. That's not really a privilege thing, more to keep trolls from attacking the politics forum. Other than that I see no reason to have a star system. We all start equal here. I judge a person by the quality of their posts, not the quantity of them....
Ah, I wondered how that worked, now I know, thanks P. P. How many posts do I have to have to be a member?
Got a few posts under my belt now. I think there should be a star system. The more stars, the better chance of becoming a watcher who simply keeps an eye on forum topics.
