Is it a desktop or laptop?

Do you hear the fans turn on at all?

If it's an old computer the motherboard battery may need replacing, or the power supply unit may be knackered.

Otherwise if it's the switch that's gone you can simply hook up another switch to the motherboard. If you look up the MB and find a manual that would help.

There is a way to pull out the switch wires and 'cross' them to force a boot (again there are a few guides for this online), but I wouldn't try it unless your sure all else is hopeless.

    best wishes

When I've had that problem I'd hook up my laptop to my desktop and run the drives independantly. They check out, then test the power supply. That checks out, then test the RAM cards. Lot of factors, foolish to label anyone thing as an absolute cause. Check everything.
