LOL this is what men do, not women! Guys are the true sissies. Proof: you guys should hear yourselves crying when you got a cold... you sound like you're agonizing or something.
i know this is the stereotype, but i really don't get where it comes from. most guys i've seen get a cold, or flu, or the plague, and they go to work and do what they would normally do like everything is normal. then most women i've seen will get a cold and you won't see them out of bed for a week, or if they absolutely must get up and do shit, you never hear the end of it.
you only think this because you're not the girlfriend or wife of a dude with a cold. A guy isn't going to go to the office and complain to his coworkers but he will drag himself home every night to his lady friend and whine a little, go to bed and wait for her to bring him soup. I dont know if the stereotype is true of all guys but I know every guy I've been in a serious relationship with acted like this. and to be honest ive acted like this too in the past. People in relationships just expect to be catered to a certain extent. It probably isn't fair to say its a gender stereotype for either gender when both sexes do it.
My experience is a bit different. Overall, both males and females complain about the common cold or the flu, or any common pain and discomfort. Granted, they still will go to work and do what needs to be done. They just will complain about it, especially if they think they know who 'gave' them the sickness in the first place. Now, if it's someone with a medical condition, which makes them used to pain and discomfort... those are the true people who don't complain. At least, they don't complain as often as most people. But, pain is pain. It hurts and is uncomfortable for everyone. So we all want to get out of daily activities that are ten times harder or just more tedious to do while in pain or uncomfortable, and we all want to be taken care of, especially if we know we have people that care about us. Anyways, I can't really think of any benefits to being a woman. To be fair, I can't think of any for men either. Humans in general are beautiful and create beautiful things, so that's always a plus.
