Women Own Music 2017

Some recent favorites for me are Jhene Aiko, Tove Lo, and Ellie Goulding. I like all diff genres but they're more mainstream.

I'll be honest, I dont like a lot of female musicians but something about their frontwoman does it for me. She has this really rich voice

Takes me a few listens to discern true quality. but they sound ok so far. Seem like a tight band with a good sound.

 

She's on the radio a lot, I've only heard a couple songs but I like her phrasing.

Nice back catalogue to explore as well it seems. Think it was Mark Riley, Radio 6's official punk music aficionado who introduced me to this band earlier in the year and so I liked them on facebook. They've got a pretty raw, energetic indie punk sound that I like. Indie rock chicks on guitar make me horny.

This new collaboration between Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett, apparently they've done a cover of Belly's Untogether, a lovely song from the clasic album "Star" (one of my favourite Indie albums from the 90's)

Karin from The Knife is back with a new album under her solo project Fever Ray!

I don't like this new stuff as much as I like the debut Fever Ray album, which was an exceptional album and better than all The Knife albums IMO

She's weird as fuck. Another reference to bodily fluids in this video.

Fever Ray's debut album was an electronic music masterpiece, and one of my favorite albums of the 2000s. Her newest album is a huge letdown.
