With NJ becoming legal. 2 towns over from me sees the bright side. Somerville will be 'trailblazer' by allowing marijuana shops downtown
I live in Washington, where its been legal for awhile, and the demand is still so high they keep raising the prices, and are drawing electrical power from three states surrounding us to grow all the pot plants. NJ becoming legal puts enormous pressure on everyone else to national its sale, but its going to be insane for at least a few years! Some places are even putting in vending machines, because the lines go around the corner!
You ain't kidding. Somerville is a town that is not for me. I only go there for glass pipes at a smoke shop I go to once in a while. I'm so not looking forward to long lines. I think I'll continue to support my local dealers for the time being.
Legalization unfortunately means prices rise. It is inevitable. I saw the price of an OZ go from $150 to $450 in California... that being said the expensive stuff was organic and lab tested for what it's worth. I don't think it is worth 300 dollars an ounce however for the organic... as they have less expense not buying those high cost liquid nutrients and bug sprays. Was the quality worth it you ask? I say there was a definite improvement in over the counter dispensary cannabis in California during the entire 1990-2010+ era. The growers simply got better and there were better genetics available in the form of imported seeds from dedicated strain creators.
That just means the dispensaries can buy it from them, so they don't have to bother selling it themselves illegally. Small time growers are one thing, but if you start producing in quantity, the money involved is enough to attract even the attention of the Mafia.
Mexico has no choice but to do whatever the US tells them to do, or be invaded on the pretext of dealing with a humanitarian crisis. Sadly, the US could easily cut off their access to water, and watch all of Mexico city die, and we're lucky Donald Duck isn't that ambitious. Jamaica is in the same boat, and you can bet your last dollar both will legalize pot as soon as its decriminalized nationally in the US.
Definitely. I try to stick to the little guys. I know one that is a grower and he gives me 6oz each year. It's very good.
