    Two verses very special to me: Genesis 1: 29 and 30
    29, And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. ....

    30. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

    The Hávamál - Words of the wise

    Verse 1:
    At every door-way,
    ere one enters,
    one should spy round,
    one should pry round
    for uncertain is the witting
    that there be no foeman sitting,
    within, before one on the floor

    Verse 6:
    Let no man glory in the greatness of his mind,
    but rather keep watch o'er his wits.
    Cautious and silent let him enter a dwelling;
    to the heedful comes seldom harm,
    for none can find a more faithful friend
    than the wealth of mother wit.

    Verse 14:
    Drunk I was, I was dead drunk, in that crafty Jötuns court.
    But best is an ale feast when man is able
    to call back his wits at once.

    Verse 16:
    The coward insist he shall always live, if he keeps himself from strife
    Old age leaves no rest in peace, though spears may spare his life

    Verse 65:
    Each man should be watchful and wary in speech,
    and slow to put faith in a friend.
    for the words which one to another speaks
    he may win reward of ill.

    Verse 137:
    I trow I hung on that windy Tree
    nine whole days and nights,
    stabbed with a spear, offered to Odin,
    myself to mine own self given,
    high on that Tree of which none hath heard
    from what roots it rises to heaven.

    Verse 138:
    None refreshed me ever with food or drink,
    I peered right down in the deep;
    crying aloud I lifted the Runes
    then back I fell from thence.

    Verse 139:
    Nine mighty songs I learned from the great
    son of Bale-thorn, Bestla's sire;
    I drank a measure of the wondrous Mead,
    with the Soulstirrer's drops I was showered.

    Verse 140:
    Ere long I bare fruit, and throve full well,
    I grew and waxed in wisdom;
    word following word, I found me words,
    deed following deed, I wrought deeds.

    Verse 141:
    Hidden Runes shalt thou seek and interpreted signs,
    many symbols of might and power,
    by the great Singer painted, by the high Powers fashioned,
    graved by the Utterer of gods.

    Verse 142:
    For gods graved Odin, for elves graved Daïn,
    Dvalin the Dallier for dwarfs,
    All-wise for Jötuns, and I, of myself,
    graved some for the sons of men.

    Verse 143:
    Dost know how to write, dost know how to read,
    dost know how to paint, dost know how to prove,
    dost know how to ask, dost know how to offer,
    dost know how to send, dost know how to spend?

    Verse 144:
    Better ask for too little than offer too much,
    like the gift should be the boon;
    better not to send than to overspend.
    ........
    Thus Odin graved ere the world began;
    Then he rose from the deep, and came again.

    (under the wind swept world tree, who's root no one knows. For nine whole day he hung there pierced, by Gugnir, his spear. Swimming in pain he peered into the depths and cried out in agony, with one last breath he grasped the Runes before falling back into the abyss. He gave himself unto himself in a world of sheering pain, so that we all, may live our lives by the wisdom that he gained!)

    Odin, the first Jesus.

    Have you ever tried to throw a boomerang? I'll save you the effort, you won't get it to come back either. ;) that picture is also innacurate as aboriginal warriors were only right handed, to throw a boomerang correctly the points must be face forward, so the boomerang thrown in the position depicted has the same chance as the crucifix in returning. ;) unless that crucifix should hit a tree stump, then the weight and force of collision would actually make it return closer to the thrower than the boomerang thrown in the position depicted in the same scenario. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

    "Verse 65:

    and slow to put faith in a friend.
    for the words which one to another speaks
    he may win reward of ill."

    Wise words of the Irm: "you look but you don't see, and you listen but do not hear" it was right there in front of you. Only a fool posteth rediculous memeth, uttering nonsense, but a jesters tongue only sings towards its own demise. :p

    The oldest account of Odin is centuries after Jesus ;) There are older versions of a trinity and 'Jesus-like' persons though.

    Also, in scandinavian/germanic mythology Baldr is usually associated more closely with Jesus than Odin

    No way, Ostara is much older than Jesus and was basically the concrete for the biblical stories of Easter. After all, the name Easter is Ostara, they just change the dates every year away from the full moon and Wotan was hung on that tree which is a symbolization if jesus on the cross. Except Wotan was never put on a tree, because he was Saxon, he was put on the Irminsul. Now you look at my avatar and tell me they don't look like something jesus was nailed to. ;) only difference is the Christian version is a sob story with heavy blame upon the Romans, whereas the Saxon story, Wotan hung himself to experience that turmoil.

    Baldr was a show Pony and pretty boy who couldn't stop himself from looking in the mirror. His major story was being captured by Hel. I cannot see how he was very jesus like at all. Jesus was a wanderer, oden was a wanderer. Jesus went through turmoil to benefit mankind. Oden went through turmoils to benefit mankind. Jesus was wise, oden was wise.

    Jesus died on the cross.. Oden lasted 9 days and came back stronger!!!

    Ecclesiastes 1:18 was vital to my bones. It went up like a stone wall. Very strong foundation for those to whom it applies.

    (Matthew 22:36-40) “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

    But then you say this;
    which seems to contradict your original statement that "All persons and events depicted are fictional".
