OK, so this might sound gross to ya'll..

but i think teeth are awesome..
sometimes when we extract a kids tooth say..and it has decent roots...i build a base for w/ some plaster..then we drill out the decay and fill it w/ some composite or amalgam..then lol we do it all over again until there is not tooth structure left!!! it's fun...

btw that was a good looking tooth! Had some decent roots for being a 3rd molar..

hey, don't say it like that.." I HATE DENTISTS" say I don't like what those dentist do...that's why so many of them kill themselves...hahaha....

well, they don't have to hurt so to speak as they erupt it...and your teeth may or may not get crooked..i mean they could shift when your 50...

sometimes 3rd molars are ok if they grow in properly, you have the space, and can keep them clean ..

unfortunetly ... for most people...they do not do the above...and they must be removed...

problem is that most of the time they decay, then abscess .. and cause a great infection...if that ever happens to you you will be begging the ORAL sergeon to remove them for you.....

NO WAY am I a dentist..thought about it..but way too much liability..i just assist them...do all the model work and articulation, steralizing, temporary crown fabrication, sealants, pediatric cleanings...etc...i am also a tmj representative for our office...anyhow.....

it is a common misconception that ORAL surgeons use anaesthesia.....they use intravenious IV for MOST thrid molar extractions..it's too risky to use anesthesia.....intravenious is basically similar, but your concious.....you just don't remember anything..

when i had my thirds out i woke up walking and talking..haha ... so....it's kinda kewl..you can walk talk swallow and do anything..but someone else is in control of your concious...actually..wait...that's scary...nevermind....hehehe

haha ok! They just use local anesthesia here it seems! Often people say they fell unconsicous during , cuz of too much accute pain.

What you talk about must be the same kind of shot they give for fracture reductions.

Will look into it if they start hurting one day.

I got so fucking high when I had it done, off their numbing shit, I was supposively talking about being a "hippie" and how awesome I felt and felt about everyone else.

Good shit. I wish I still had the medication. No it does not hurt. It was a cool experience for me.

    Yeah,

I have to get mine done.. not sure when (or if) I will...

The dentist told me two were impacted (that's all he said.. not partially or fully.. I just don't know) and depending on the situation I will decide whether it'd be easier to remove them or let it be. I don't trust dentists or doctors too easily..

I don't really care to remove the two that will come in fine.. the only ones the dentist thought really mentioned to definitely be removed are the impacted ones. I just don't know.. he told me that "most people" remove all of them regardless.

I wish my boyfriend lived closer, and that he had a car... we have to take care of eachother, you know?

I had mine pulled out 4 days ago. The only thing I really hated was that afterwards your mouth will be very very sore. I went with the nitrus or whatever it's called, It worked so well. I had 2 very crooked wisdom teeth and i didn't even feel them come out. You feel nothing when you use the gass. It works so much better than none. another thing that bugs me is when the teeth move back to cover the holes, it doesn't hurt, it just bugs the hell outta you, but trust me, it's not as bad as it seems. I was scar ed myself.

I had 6 wisdom teeth! two extra on the bottom. I went to an oral surgeon who gave me sodium pentathol and I was completely out. All I remember was sitting down in the chair, having a face mask put over my nose and mouth while a lady put an IV in my arm and next thing I knew I was waking up in a recovery room. My grandfather (who took me to and from the appointment) immeidately filled my prescription for vicodin and I took those every 4 or 6 hours for the next several days. I can say honestly I didn't feel any pain.
