good for him. i do always find it a little concerning when people say the military, or church, or whatever made them do something like this. like, don't you have your own conscience? but either way, i'm glad it went to him and not the scammer piece of shit who pretty much deserves to be killed slowly.
he said the military taught him about integrity. Perhaps growing up, in his home, or neighbourhood there was little to no integrity. The military became his family. Not to say he didn’t have it before the military, but perhaps growing up he rarely saw it. Easy to just say I found a wallet and going to keep the money. I need it! He didn’t hesitate to open someone else’s mail though, and I am glad that he did, Lol. If he hadn’t it may have found its way into someone else’s hands and never returned, integrity isn’t something we are born with, for example, all students will say cheating is wrong, yet 95% have cheated. And will have excuses for it,
I’ve always wondered why it’s usually the elderly who fall for these kinds of scams. You’d think that with age comes better wisdom than this.
i'm not convinced that either of those is true. yeah, that's always confused me too. i can't think of any good reason for it.
Other than senility, and grew up in a time where they trusted people more. In a more innocent time. Where you didn’t have to lock your doors at night.
It is ok, I am not here to convince you. I will put you in the 5 percent who never cheated or lied about never cheating. "Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." -C. S. Lewis
