I know, right? I love all seasons...but there is just something special about winter.... More pics to come....we are expecting 24 inches of snow
Awesome! Little cardinals, are you cold? Such beautiful photography.......inspiring me to want to paint the context........ and so far, we are spared...not a drop of snow here as of yet....and not far neighboring towns were not.....usually, we are getting hit the hardest here in NY...not this time.....
I was finally feeling well enough to go out for a quick walk today. It was a bit nippy out there, I didn't realize it was so cold. I grabbed a quick picture with my phone. Not much snow this year, but the ice persists.
It was beautiful today and a balmy -6C. The sun was just beaming so I went out for a walk before dinner. It was great to get out after the frigid temps lately and all the freezing rain. I like the effect of the sun on the trees. The lake was like glass. I didn’t realize I caught someone walking their dog. Is that you, Expanse, trying to moon me?? This is neat. It was nowhere near this dark but the sun was so bright, it shone into the lens and darkened the scene. Looks like sunset with the sun still up in the sky!
Snapped a few pics with my phone on my walk. Last of the ice melting away. H'ray! Still lots of puddles on the path, but at least part of the path is walkable.
This is unbelievable, we usually have our worst snowstorms this time of year, and hear we are with spring weather. We may still get blasted, but the ground is too warm for it to stay very long. The ground is usually still frozen stiff this time of year. We must have flipped upside down to Glenglen's coordinates!
The water level was really high at the lake yesterday, all that ice melting. This is one of the boat launches which is usually dry. And half the shrubs covered by water.
I could hear the ice in the lake cracking as I walked along the path. I wish I had a decent lens to get the glistening effect of some of the beautiful ice formations. Today the water was very rough, crashing against the sides. You can see a bit of the action in the bottom right corner. Have to enjoy this while we can, we're expecting snow on and off for the next two weeks starting later this week.
