I was hoping to skip right to spring, but I guess I'll put up the winter thread. It was a frosty day at the lake today. -16C, with the windchill closer to -23C. But the sun was shining brightly so it wasn't too bad. It was nice to get some rays and get out in the (crisp!) air. lake starting to freeze mist over the lake
Thank you. It's a Nikon D3300 DSLR. I needed something with a manual mode. I almost got the Sony Alpha SLT-A58, I'm partial to Sony cameras, but the Nikon had a couple of features I wanted that the Sony didn't have. It was a points program I was cashing in so the choices were limited. I don't remember what settings I decided on for the first pic, but the second one I shot in manual mode at 55mm, ISO 100, f/22, 1/800s.
glad you didn't skip winter. i like snow pictures a lot, even if the cold and the wet makes me want to stay inside out of it as much as i can. i don't have any from this year that are worth posting anyplace i'm on that i could link to from. i think i've got one from last year or the year before though. http://www.furaffinity.net/full/12213931/
Great camera. Sony is also good, if memory serves...Sony took over Minotla (great cameras). I have always been a Canon dude.
I've had a couple of Canons. My first camera was a Fuji. Great camera, but harder to get lenses and accessories for.
It had become warm again for most of the week, with nothing but rain then today the cold hit again. And the wind. It was -10C (-20C with the wind chill, and felt like it!). I barely made it 45 minutes out there. Even the beaming rays didn't help much, though it was nice to see the sun again. Lots of ice around and big waves.
Your pictures are beautiful but they make me feel cold. I could take some winter pictures but pictures of my daffodils poking out of the ground way too early and a yard filled with wild onions and weeds (because I refuse to cut my grass after October, no matter how long summer sticks around) probably isn't what you have in mind with this thread.
I took a walk by the creek today....the air hurt my face. Featuring nature's art...using the medium "ice".
