sounds cool. am about that weekend. if there are any southerners wanting lifts i am a £5/40 min train ride out of london. i'm guessing we're doing a friday through to sunday night type thing, so anyone who wants to start arriving on the friday afternoon for lifts is more than welcome. we could even make a return to the strip joint i took everyone to (by mistake of course!) the last time we all got together like this! if anyone who knows the area or is near it could do a scout around for park-ups that would be kinda handy, coz although having the caravan has made life alot comfier, it is more difficult to find places to park it, as i can no longer just leave it on the streets and pretend its a works van. also if you could bear in mind i have been towing for a very very short time, so easy roads would be nice!! looking forward to seeing you all peace and love stardust xxx
this is what the above site says about the park. sounds quite good. £9.50 per caravan + 4 people is not too bad (£2.50 each per night) and at this time of year it shouldn't be too crowded so we wont have to worry too much about antisocial noise. i like the sound of pitches among trees. it will be like camping out in the wilds without having to worry about getting moved on. whats everyone elses thoughts about this? Considering the time of year etc... I think this will be a good idea... Love Clairexxx p.s. They have a bar too
The only problem I see with this is that some caravan parks don't like the idea of a large group of people all turning up together. They like nice little family units. Worth checking out though just for the electrical hookup ... mmmmmmmm ~ heat and television
Television! ... we don't need television! We'll be too busy having fun! The heat bit I agree with though... Love Clairexxx
The caravan park doesnt mind big groups ....well didnt turn away over 20 camper vans the last two years
is anyone else sleeping in a cold drafty tent like me??? maybe if im the only one outside in the sleet and rain looking thru your windows into your warm cosy vans filled with laughter and merryment someone might let me grab a little bit of heat before i go back to my cold, drafty, probably damp tent. err where is that site??? is it in the middle??? im in the middle. i might be driving by then but im not deffo, but if i am i got room for lifts from coventry or anywhere on the way. err also when is it??? im crap at readin these things, sorry, but theres like pages n pages of stuff. can u play music at this place??? ive got a good amp n speakers and a 12v transformer and a drum.
i'd like to make it down but not too sure about this caravan park idea.... is there not a woods we can hide in?
if you guys wanna let me know if you're coming and what vehicles you'll be in i'm happy to phone ahead. the only problem is that i wont have much internet access after 21st november, so if its not organised by then someone else wil have to take over. i understand about wanting to camp in woods rather than caravan parks, but the issue i have is that i've only been towing a very short time and am certainly not quite ready to be towing great big things through wooded areas. i have visions of getting very stuck, which is always fun but not terribly practical. the website sez there are wooded areas we can park up in, which will be almost as good. i will bring the awning for my caravan so we have a large communal area that everyone can fit into, but for those of you with ideas of warmth i am sorry to disillusion you but i cant work out the gas fire so unless anyone has a portable mains heater then lots of jumpers will be the way to go! its better for the environment anyway! thats what i do. anyone wanting to sleep in the awning or in my van is also welcome. starflys monkey has already booked a space in the caravan. i would recomend you all to bring as many blankets as you can carry. i slept out in the frost last night and it would have been very nippy if i hadn't buried myself in a nest of blankets! let me know as soon as possible what vehicles/tents/caravans will be attending and i'll phone them once i have a better idea. peace and love stardust xxx
this seems to be happening a week after my age is tallied for another rotation around the sun. kinda stuck up here on my own at the moment, my brother is away for my birthday. would love to come down to be in a party atmosphere. i'm going to check train times from edinburgh now. which station do i go to? derby? is it possible to get a lift from anyone if i make it that far? s'ok though, i'm sure there's buses 'n stuff. the 12th this is happening? or 11th?
will be around for lifts on the friday afternoon. if i end up doing miles and miles though i would appreciate a donation towards fuel. peace and love stardust xxx
hi star dust, im a lorry driver by trade, so if need be ill tow ya caravan thru the trees seems a big big shame we cant have a fire does anyone know the situation about playing music?????
the field can just be a 'base camp' as it were. i'm sure we'll find a good place for a fire if we scout out into the country once we're there.
