About this time of the year, older taxpayers will again be receiving another 'Winter Fuel’ payment.

This is indeed a very exciting programme and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format:

    Q. What is a 'Winter Fuel’ payment ?A. It is money the government will send to taxpayers.

    Q. Where will the government get this money ?A. From taxpayers.

    Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?A. Only a smidgen of it.

    Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase gas and electricity...or a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

    Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?A. Shut up.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.K. Economy by spending your 'Winter Fuel’ cheque wisely:

    * If you spend the money at Asda or Tesco, the money will go to China, Taiwan or Sri Lanka

    * If you spend it on petrol your money will go to Arabs

    * If you purchase a computer it will go to India, Taiwan or China

    * If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala

If you buy a fuel-efficient car it will go to Japan or Korea

    * If you purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan

    * If you pay off your credit cards or buy shares, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.

Instead, keep the money in the UK by:

    1. Spending it at car boot sales and charity shops

    2. Going to night clubs

    3. Spending it on prostitutes

    4. Buying beer, wine or gin

    5. Getting yourself a Tattoo

    6. Visiting a bookie

(These are the only UK businesses still operating in the U.K. )

Conclusion: Be patriotic - go to a night club with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a car boot sale and drink beer day and night !

No need to thank me...just glad I could be of help.

But you wont pay any more because of it, will you?
The only people whom it really effects, are the people recieving it! And best part of them, are/where tax payers....
Im a tax payer too, and if i could hold back my part, i would give it directly to someone who needed it...but by the time its taxed, its not worth it on its own any how!
Our government sucks! The life out of people! And we never even voted them in!

I'm not really sure what you are saying here.

You would 'hold back' all 0.000000001 of a penny?
So, you are not apposed to the WFA - just wish for it to be means tested?
    Me too.
I don't have to be an economic nationalist, though... o_O
I'm also not sure how you figure that 'all money goes to...'

Both sentences. I'm not sure what you are saying.

I won't pay anymore what? Because of what?
How does it effect those receiving it?

    Not really no.

As a single male with no children and earning over $15k - I get nothing.

By the time I'm 61 I want something for nothing, thank you.

When I say 'for nothing' I obviously mean for 40 years worth of work and 'paying into the system'...

As far as I can tell, you think the WFA should either not be paid out or atleast means tested.
And that there is an unfair division in who gets what.

I think the WFA should be means tested, and if others are receiving 'benefits'/tax breaks where is mine? - certainly not a fair division in who gets what.

As for what to buy with approx' 200 pounds and where that 200 pounds ends up - well, you lost me there ( a pile of ....... )

There does seem to be an element of anti tax sentiment.

I'm not trying to wind you up - just try and decipher what the hell you are trying to say.

I thought the OP was a joke. WFA is payable to pensioners not "tax payers" in general and therefore the rest of the rant is irrelevant unless you're advocating taking money off pensioners.
