totally agree! I already hate the idea of cellphones and creditcards are being able to monitor every purchase or phonecall we make. And the cameras everywhere! The world is getting more and more right-winged (i blame the american government for inspiring fear into everyone that doesn't know about the world)

absolutely NOT. The government needs to leave its people ALONE before a lot of people get really pissed off and overthrow their greedy-inhumane asses. UGH.

It's only a matter of time... we'll get a discount on our insurance when we switch to The Chip, and it'll be promoted with funny little commercials featuring the Geico Gecko.

"...It is not possible to make a LASTING compromise between technology and freedom, because technology is by far the more powerful social force and continually encroaches on freedom through REPEATED compromises... While technological progress AS A WHOLE continually narrows our sphere of freedom, each new technical advance CONSIDERED BY ITSELF appears to be desirable. Electricity, indoor plumbing, rapid long-distance communications ... how could one argue against any of these things, or against any other of the innumerable technical advances that have made modern society? ...all these technical advances taken together have created a world in which the average man's fate is no longer in his own hands or in the hands of his neighbors and friends..."

"...Another reason why technology is such a powerful social force is that, within the context of a given society, technological progress marches in only one direction; it can never be reversed. Once a technical innovation has been introduced, people usually become dependent on it, so that they can never again do without it, unless it is replaced by some still more advanced innovation..."

I read that these chips can be injected with hypodermic needles, such as those used to vaccinate.

Protest the National I.D. that everyone is supposed to get this year. Refuse to get one! The National I.D. will have a chip, like passports and what not already do...

This is just the beginning of social conditioning to get us used to the idea of a chip implant. It started with chipping our dogs, now we chip are old relatives and our prisoners, and dumbass clubbers in Spain get chipped so they can drink without paying the bartender!?...and I mentioned chips in passports and official documents. Oh yeah, if you own a cell phone you are screwed too...

Today everyone will legally have to submit to this BS with the national ID...

    Tomorrow the brain chip!

Also, I'm wondering how many folks with their eyes and ears open have noticed the bio-subsidiary of Verichip is now called X-mark?

Army Readies Robot Soldiers for Iraq

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6852832/

Welcome to the brave new world of government sponsored dehumanization...

If they can program robots to shoot at Iraqis, what's to keep them from turning on fellow citizens.

This is complete paranoia and fearmongering.

There is no chip plan. They can't even get a national ID card done. You can go hide in the basement, afraid to use cell phones and credit cards, but the joke's on you.

Also, if this is the same chip that I heard about on the news, they are going to be manufacturing guns that you cant shoot unless you have the implant saying that you are licensed to use one. They market this under "gun control". Can you say totalitarian government?

yeah, see how fast they do more than that with these chips.
Soon, people of whom the government doesn't agree with won't be able to buy food because their chips will be deactivated or locked, or worse, when people try to get food it'll send out an alert of where they are...
soon we won't be able to eat or defend ourselves without the government's strict permission, "guidence", and supervision.

When it first appears on a large scale, it will have nothing but advantages built into it- emergency medical information, for instance. It will save lives, and people will be manipulated into answering a question like "What privacy protection and rights will you have when you're dead?" The negative aspects won't rear their ugly head until the technology is very well-established and popular.

I'm highly distrustful of technology, but given the size of the human population, only high technology stands a chance in hell of saving humanity now, I think.

I think we can also expect to see the positive useful aspects of the technology to fall into disuse because of a lack of funding over time, while the more sinister uses of it will always be funded generously.
