It's already done him harm, he's lost quite a bit of support. I just hope that if Trump beats impeachment it's not all forgotten come election time.

So you voted for someone that that said to a room full of many of such people that he was cutting taxes to make them richer.

These wealthy interests are in many cases his supporters.

And it seems weird that in the middle of the list you put in ‘big government’ what do you mean by that?

In what way – I mean I’ve heard right wingers say this in relation to taxing wealth and for the widening of healthcare to help the disadvantaged – it’s a kind of catch all right wing statement, and often for things that help most people but can mean higher taxes for the richer.

Who – I mean most US foreign aid especially military aid is tied to countries buy US goods and equipment so who are you talking about exactly?

Over the last 20 years the major conflicts have resulted due to right wing policies often because of and through the right wing manipulation of popular sentiment.

It looks like what is going to happen is there will be an impeachment in the house. The democrats have a majority there. This will likely give them the votes in favor.

What I'm having a hard time with is the argument that this is a one-sided thing. It's like the republicans don't agree that the gist was a quid pro quo in the president's interactions with Ukraine, and that the evidence that others were involved suggests a larger operation to the same end.

I suspect that we will never agree and that it doesn't really matter. The whole thing only serves as a blemish on the sleeve of Donald Trump. He will most likely still run for president in 2020. The whole "impeachment thing" in quotes will have been a big hoax and he will drive a wedge between his base and the rest of the country.

 

You obviously haven't been watching the hearings, like the rest of the Trumpster's I know. Gobs of evidence, and there'd be more if the Orange One wasn't refusing to provide it--obstruction of evidence, another impeachable offense.

question in my mind is what are we going to say to each other if & when this impeachment happens? I think our difference should fall away like so much dead skin... good riddance.

 

A meaningless gesture meant to feed into the us vs. them mentality. He gets to be the outsider who has no free speech which is huge to the right wing community. Everyone picks on them and trys to force communism on them. And oddly it's all rooted in "feelings" as the alt-right would say and according to them they have no place in logical adult discussions.

You have a feeling that he's a good guy. You feel that he is like you. The facts say otherwise. It's odd to me since they ignore all of the realities of Trump and still harp on Obama and Hillary. Did they do things wrong? Yes but not like he has.
