Where where those fucking cowards during all the OTHER illegal US inavasions in the middle east? Compare obama's track record to bushes, then justify those who supported bush attacking obama....
I know you aren't talking to me! I didn't support Bush either! But Obama ended the war in Iraq, on the date Bush set!! Secondly, he's not in a rush to get out of Afghanistan (he committed troops there till 2024.) He's been drone striking Pakistan, Yehman and, any other third world country! It'd be very easy to argue this track record is the same cause he's continued the torcher and human rights violations of Bush.
The problem isn’t individual presidents it is the culture that has produced the foreign policy of the USA since the 1940’s (and some would argue since the idea of America’s ‘Manifest Destiny’ which was back in the 1840’s) These involve the desire for US hegemony a belief in American exceptionalism, a limited policy arch that often only has short term goals without considering an endgame or consequences and which is overlain by a belief that accepts the threat of violence, intimidation and suppression as legitimate means of social and political control. These things can build up an irrational barrier between reality and myth, between what the US people and its policy makes see as prudent and sensible and what actually is prudent and sensible. If you take a look at the macro and micro foreign policy of the US this becomes rather obvious.
I agree. I think our foreign policy is basically ran by the Military industrial complex, and they like to occupy lands to control resources. IE We Went into Libya cause Gaddafi was creating a gold based currency which would contest the dollar; We couldn't have that now could we? We went into Iraq for Oil; even better for the oil industries, war in the middle east creates speculation of rising oil prices, and that makes oil prices skyrocket! We went into Afganistan for control of their Opium. Opiate-based painkillers makes some pharmaceutical industries alot of money, meanwhile laws against drugs ensure that they have a monopoly of what type of drugs are "legal prescription medication" and which are "illicit drugs." It's all a bunch of bull shit really. The U.S Government can be looked at as a business, which has a monopoly on theft, murder, torcher and, spying!! Normally, this stuff would get you locked up, but not if you're the Government, fuck no!
Keep disliking my posts, but remaining silent, you sheep! Oh Bahhh Mahhh! Oh Bahhh Mahhh!!! Why don't you defend your glorious black jesus and say something pussy? I know why! It's cause there is nothing GOOD to say about Obama!!! He's trying to take our freedom and establish a Nanny-state police-state government, that completely disregards the Constitution!!! If a white president had done this, people would be SCREAMING for impeachment proceedings!!!
The point I was making is that howling at ‘government’ or a single US President is rather futile if the real problem is a dysfunctional political system. It seems to me you are blaming ‘government’ (an elected government) and a President (an elected leader) for being ‘bad’ when the true problem is that dysfunctional political system that allows ‘bad’ representatives into power, it would seem then to me that the solution would then be to try and fix the political system so elections get ‘good’ representatives into power. All you have to do then is decide what changes to make and what constitutes a ‘good’ representative – easy
It's because your posts are annoying as fuck, and you just repeat the same stuff over and over, without ever considering the possibility of another viewpoint on any issue.
Other viewpoints?? "Obama didn't mean to do it, it was those damn republicans!!!" "If only Obama could bypass congress and the Constitution, we wouldn't have these problems!!!" How's that?
I haven't seem one person in all the threads you've argued politics make statements like that. You're the only one that views the world in black and white like that. your problem is you don't really listen to what other people say. You already have predetermined that you don't respect their opinion if they don't agree with you, so you refuse to see any shades of grey in a discussion.
I agree with Balbus that the problem is systemic and not the result of a lack of virtue on anyone's part. These people far from directing outcomes are responding the way they do because they believe they have to. The different branches of government each spend time pissing on each other to stake out territory, being separate but equal in theory. This creates an indigenous antagonism in the small or territorial minded. Understand that elected officials are reaching for personal power in their desire to make a difference, and "power" is only attractive to the weak. Institutional organizations behave like living organisms and any new face to the system that represents genuine departure from the status quo immediately stimulates an immune response and is attacked by the white corpuscle and it festers around them until it spits them out or dissolves their intent in their battle to maintain their footing until they forget why they came.
Democrats and Liberals respond the idealistic Obama that candidate Obama was!! I'm so sorry, Liberals! Candidate Obama is dead, and he's never coming back!!! Anyway, you guys are just butt hurt for no reason. It's not my place to contest my views, that's yours. I'm by no means unwilling to listen!!! I posted what I believe to be tyrannical laws by Obama, the only thing I've ever heard in defense of him are similar to what I stated. People literally just alieviate Obama of any wrong doing and blame republicans or congress!!
I think what people are really doing is looking at the big picture. The president has very limited power so it's pointless to blame everything on one guy.
But people are still blaming Bush for all of our problems, and act like the last 4 years didn't happen!!!
