I follow your gist however a couple contradictions and assumptions come into play with your statement.
    1. galactic backwater we come from,
    2. that all life in the Universe must follow the same pattern as that on Earth.
    3. the still primitive nature of this planet and its inhabitants.

Just curious about what ET makes the assumptions about our humanity? How do they know that we are galactic backwater?
How do they compare life on earth to their own species and sister planets of the great Federation of Space? AND how do they know we are so primitive? Truly that is amazing! Sounds smart too!

    WE ARE THE TIME TRAVELERS!

We travel thru time during our lives, we experience it.
    That is our lot.

A bigger question is what happens when we stop our time travel?
    Where do we go?

Are our muons (consciousness?) released to be pulled into the nearest black hole, where we can no longer experience this reality?

    It is the eternal mystery.

And yes, just had a toke of OG Cookies. :)

I wouldn't be sure its not possible already. If you can create worm holes and move millions of miles much much faster than normal frfitom one point to another it would be the equivalent of time traveling. Another thing, some of the most distant stars we might actually being seeing their past due to the time it takes for that light to reach us. Im sure everything the human brain can imagine is possible in one way or another.

Seems unlikely that humans could survive the process. If it is possible, someone will spend as much time as it takes to get it to work. Using a pebble at first.

I think that would reqire us to exceed the speed of light, which is probably impossible, since photons don't interact with the Higg's field and therefore are the fastest possible particle.
