Hate is a strong word. No, I was saying nothing about other rich families. But I must say that the Waltons appear to be particularly selfish, to be so rich and to pay their employees less than a living wage, which is immoral IMHO.

Picky, picky, picky. The poor souls are only worth 142 billion!

You don't have to hate someone to judge their character. Theirs has been judged and found wanting by many, except those that continually worship the rich and feel it is their duty to denigrate the poor.

I know who pays most of the taxes and I know who pays the least. The ones that pay the least are the favored corporations and those who would truly love to have those jobs that have disappeared. The so-called american dream potential has been nearly put to sleep.

I would assume they are paying a wage equal to the value of the work being performed or they would not find anyone willing to take the jobs they provide. Some jobs simply aren't worth paying what you call a 'living wage', but they do provide extra income for those willing to take them.

Epistemology is available for the knowledge of the worth of the work and it's changing employment arena. Indeed science oriented careers and associated jobs make a metaphysical speculation appear on the goal oriented needs of all kinds of backgrounds. How is this world becoming associated with the human nature of futurity? That is the inescapable development of knowledge of the educated fields for the worthy paid workers. Worth is more flexible even for the most drudgerous tasks.

The main point is that we trust these workers in the collective sense of realizing their wage is a new interest of human rights for the human nature.:biker:

Do you have no empathy? You really see nothing wrong with knowingly paying someone a wage that places them below the poverty line while collecting hundreds of millions for yourself? Just because something is determined by 'the market' doesn't mean that it is right.

ALL jobs should pay a living wage for one reason...Because it's morally right.

If businesses can't be profitable paying a living wage in America, they shouldn't be considered viable. :smoking:

    Though this was illuminating....

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoc...7-billion-in-annual-labor-costs-to-taxpayers/

"Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley released a study on Tuesday showing that front-line fast food workers earning a median wage of $8.69 an hour are more than twice as likely to rely on public benefits programs as the rest of the workforce — 52% compared to 25%.

Of that $7 billion, well over half — $3.9 billion — is spent on Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for fast food workers and their families. UC Berkeley’s researchers found that 68% of these low-wage earners are the main breadwinners in their households, with over a quarter raising children."

And the Feds target of devaluing the dollar at a 3% annual rate is only going to increase poverty and grow wealth disparity while allowing government to show a growth in GDP and reduction of debt to GDP. What government does in macromanaging the economy is primarily for the benefit of government, but does no harm to the wealthiest while reducing the opportunities for the poor and middle classes to advance econommically.
Over the last century and moving forward, we've allowed government to create a situation where inflation and devaluation of our currency is the only means by which our government can survive. Of course this makes people more and more dependent on government as to remain self reliant they would have to set aside $3-$5 or more for each $1 of spending value they would need at retirement age.

Government IS the problem, a competitive free market with both reasonable and rational business laws and regulations is the ONLY solution, and then fewer jobs would be sent abroad providing Americans with more and greater opportunities.

Uncontrolled emotions can lead to some very bad decisions.

Wages are and should be paid only based upon the value to the employer of the work to be performed, not the ability of the employer to pay.

Nor does it mean that it is wrong.

    Yikes!! They're among us!!

And please--let's not let that uncontrolled empathy over rule common sense.

That goes along with separation of Church and State. Many of the original immigrants to the U.S.A. came seeking freedom from oppressive governments, and freedom from imposed religion, today the Left are unyielding in not simply removing every facet of religion from our government, but instead replacing it with Liberalism. And while I as an athiest have no belief in an invisible God, neither do I believe in one who is elected by a simple majority, defining and imposing morality upon me or others.

As government continues to produce more and more fiat money, what will be the effect on the poor, the middle classes, and the rich, and government as we go forward? Who will benefit and who will suffer as a result? How does government macro-management of our economy effect us each and every one? We allow politicians to induce us to focus on the consequences of government actions rather than the source from which they are being derived.

No belief in an invisible god, but the idea of an invisible hand makes sense to you?

An invisible hand is a dualistic value. There are holy book visions for it. Undemocratically (I think) there exist Quran readers in the middle east who act with extraneous invisible hands. But the way the hands wash each other is very mysterious.

Actually when we as individuals make choices of how, where, and with whom we earn money or spend it, the hand is not invisible.

So, Individual, how do you feel about the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Good idea? I would imagine you like the idea of giving corporations power to sue governments for passing legislation that affects their profits.

You should recognize as fact that your imagination doesn't necessarily represent reality. How does it relate to fast food workers being replaced by computers?

What ties them together is the theme of corporations putting profits ahead of people.
