I think they will use memes to dumb down the public about the immediate concerns for the need to change our ultra consumerist activity. But there is no way that alternative web sites will abandon the immediate need to do something NOW about anthropocentric climate change/global warming.

If Climate change is man made

    Then the problem is man

There will be around 11 billion people on the planet by 2100

There is only one real solution, wipe out a couple billion humans

1850 - 0.198 billion tonnes of C02, 1.3 billion people on the planet - 0.15 tons per person
2016 - 38.2 billion tons per year of C02, 7.4 billion people on the planet - 5.16 tons per person

You want to get back to pre industrial output levels, everyone on the planet has to cut their C02 emissions on average by 97%

113 grams of CO2 per kilometre per person for international air travel. One 9000 km flight is one ton of CO2 per passenger. A 1327 km flight is 0,15 ton of C02 per passenger

You want to get back to 1850s level, take one 1327 km flight, then you've used up your quota for the year, then dont do anything, dont eat, drive for the rest of the year

Climate change nonsense, the idea that we can all band together have a group hug, recycle out water bottles, have any kind of control / influence over all the other countries, all the other people.....absolutely mind numbingly idiotic. Un-freakin-believable

How old do humans get? Which year is it now? If we want less people in about 2100 than seems there will be at this point is the most simple solution to wipe billions of people out? I see an easier one.

It seems you find the idea that we as a whole can do something about man made climate change more ridiclous and unbelievable than the idea climate change is man made. So just because it is really hard to do we should just do nothing and ridicule people who have valid concerns about this issue? Other people find the amount of apathy in others idiotic and unfreakingbelievable. I tend to agree. It's holding humans in industrial countries more back than those with the motiviation to change things for the better.

You don't have to portray things more disturbing than they already are. First of all: we don't need to wipe out people to lower the assumed world population in 2100. Secondly: we don't have to go back to the output levels of the year 1850 in order to make a positive impact. If you don't wanna put any effort into any of these things ok. But things have changed for the better because people made a collective impact before so yeah, a bit sad you think that is not even worth trying. Not that the future depends on people like you. That's clear.

LOL, so no breeding for 50 years or so.....that's sound rather gay, hell I'm up for that, I start a business selling Roman togas and body oil now.

We don't have to go back to 1850s levels?
    Errr yeah we do

Greenhouses gases cause a warming of the earth, we want to stop that warming, we have to go back to an output where it doesn't affect warming of the earth.

It' s that simple in theory

Give us a figure Asmo, how many tons of greenhouse gases per year per person to at least stall global warming.

    It is that simple

I am an a-hole for saying I think anyone that thinks we can change it is a moron. Ok that doesn't change the problem.

You, me and everyone else coming in here from a first world country are bigger offenders than most of the rest of the world

Come into these threads, criticise their government for not doing enough, when you know they can't even be stuffed carrying their own water bottle around, refilling from a tap so it's not 10 plastic water bottles a week in landfill a week. Oh but tap water is bad for you, scientist told us so, but it also 6 lattes a week, brewed from tap water in paper or Styrofoam cups.

Yes it is all absolutely freakin ridiculous
