    I wouldn't mind owning a DS personally.

I agree with what you said J0hn about not wanting to stand up looking like a windmill. ha ha! :) Did you ever see the videos of what went wrong with that control system before they put the thicker strap on it? *eeps*

yes. Flying remote controls. It was a bad time to be a television. Apparently a lot of people managed to smash up their tvs due to weak straps. Then Nintendo Wii withdrew the remotes, put thicker straps on them and the rest is history. I like the word: Nun chucker. It reminds me of lots of nuns being hurtled into the air.

Additional: I saw a screenshot for Wii Simpsons Game. On one screenshot it had Apu poster: Sitar Hero. Hope Activision take this concept further.

I still reckon the Wii is worth getting just for Super Mario Galaxy. Though it was a similar story for me and the DS (got it for New Super Mario Bros, then discovered the Phoenix Wright series).

On the other hand, some people may be disappointed with the new direction Nintendo are taking with their favourite mascot. :(

The whole concept of Touch Screen is quite an achievement. I have discovered that Mario and sonic olympic Games are coming to DS on January 22nd 2008. This will use Touch Screen to the max, but we will have to wait and see how good this is compared to the Wii. Obviously the Wii requires you to jump around, wave hands around like windmills and basically make a prat of yourself in front of the tv. On the other hand, both consoles are successful and genius. But for price, for style and for Nintendo, I have to go with DS once again. THe PSP is rather large. It wouldn't fit in my pocket.

When my sister plays Wii Sports Bowling, she nearly puts her shoulder out from the swing. I always tell her she doesn't need to do it like that, you don't even throw that hard when bowling normally. She ends up tiring herself out after twenty minutes, and her arm aches for an entire weekend afterwards.

When I play, it's all about controlled movements - more of my energy comes from the wrist, quick flicks where I barely even move my arm. Using well timed, energy-efficient, precision movements, I can last for ages. Hell, this is probably the same reason I'm so great in the sack. :D

Either way, even on WarioWare games where you're supposed to do stupid stuff like pretend to be an elephant (I kid you not), I've found you don't really need to as long as you get the moves right.

The problem about the Wii is one has to dance about, wave their hands about etc. Supposing someone had a siezure? who would know the difference? my advice is to have frequent breaks and play with good light. Otherwise you may be mistaken for playing Mario and Sonic olympic game.

Additional: Pick Amy Rose as your contender. Don't be surprised if you lose. She is quite erotic.....no, really.

The DS is well worth getting for:
    New Super Mario Bros
Legend of Zelda; The Phantom Hourglass
The Phoenix Wright series, hell yeah
    Hotel Dusk

Long and involving games of different genres, all only available on the DS. :D

Although Trauma Centre and Super Mario Galaxy have come out on the Wii now, so that bucks the balance a little. A lot.

You don't need to dance about, wave your hands like a windmill or pretend to fellate cartoon characters to play the games effectively; I was playing Wii Tennis earlier today and barely had to flick my wrist to make the movements work.

The most strenuous/intensive move you need to do is on Olympics or some parts of Mario Party, where you have to shake the controller up and down fast to win. If anyone has seizures where their dominant hand starts jerkig up and down furiously, please come and live with me and I'll put the talent to good use (oh so lonely :().

Apart from you Lithium, you stay where you are. :D

I'd go for the wii personally, much more fun, although as mentioned before they are quite hard to get hold of. But if you have the patience it's worth the wait [IMG]

I thank everyone for their advice. It has helped me make a decision. Unfortunately I will have neither the Wii or Ds. First the Wii: Too expensive, to much excercise. Infact it is a contradictory happening. The Ds is too small, too expensive for such a small system that can just about handle 64 mega bit. It looks sleak and similar to one of those palm tops. I did consider PSP but that too was very expensive and though the graphics are better than DS. Like the DS, the games are too expensive. So.....

I am having to sacrifice Mario and zelda as I will be buying a PS2. As I don't have Hi Def, I won't need the PS3. I am looking forward to playing Guitar Hero. And when you see the DS equivalent, I feel like slapping a sausage gently on DS gamers heads in a sympathetic gesture or pity. Jam Session is seriously inferior to Guitar Hero. I mean Nintendo honestly believed that Jam Sessions would beat Guitar Hero? I seen a lot of youtube hysterics with Jamsessions. Perhaps this DS equivalent isn't entirely without purpose. *Strums an electric guitar and makes an excellent Hank Marvin guitar riff finale.

You can't really compare a PS3 game to a DS game, champ. Different chipsets and lack of space in the DS make it an unfair fight. It'd be like comparing Super Mario Brothers 3 to Super Mario Land.

Also, Nintendo didn't believe anything. Jam Sessions was produced by Ubisoft and developed by Plato.

They have Guitar Hero 3 on Wii. That would make a better comparison point.

Also, the Wii isn't really exercise. You don't have to jump around and wave your arms around a lot as long as you know how to use the controller. I've said that enough times in the LAST FOUR FUCKING PAGES, so I don't know why you're sticking to that delusion.

Only problem with it is, since it alters the view based on the player's position, any other person playing or watching it gets an odd perspective.

Still, it's a hell of a leap, and I really hope Nintendo take notice of it. :D
