So a few days ago I was at the front desk at work talking to the receptionist on the way back from the break area after getting a coffee to take to my office. I was not wearing my shoes. At that time a woman comes in ask for some information on a specific listing , the receptionist looked up the MLS and it was an agent who office was next to mine. The receptionist was going to escort her to the office but I volunteered since I was headed that way. As I came around the desk, she said please don’t look down , I am barefoot, I was wearing heels and left them in the car. I responded by pointing at my feet and smiling. We had a small conversation on the way to the office she needed. The next day she calls complaining about an agent who was not wearing shoes and how unprofessional it was. Lol
Nice. Shoes are often left under a desk in the offices I have worked in. Just be glad you do not work in her office!
Interesting hypocrisy on her part. She left her uncomfortable professional high heels in the car and chose to be barefoot, then she calls complaining about an unprofessional agent being barefoot. Now, I get the reality of dress codes and dressing for success and I am respectful of these cultural norms in my business life, but the lady wasn’t observing this norm by walking into a place of business barefoot. Seems like it should of been a funny bonding experience.
