I believe in the christian god too, but how can you justify doing "magick" being pagan, and worshipping a god that forbade it? Yahweh said no magick, no soothsaying. There are no rules on spirituality, BUT there are rules put in place by gods. And if you worship that god, then you abide by the rules. If you honestly worship the Biblical god, then you cant do anything "wiccan" without pissing him off. GOD i cant believe the fluffy newage justifications people can make in the name of spirituality. So you can take what you want from this culture, and this religion, and this belief, BUT never take it serious enough to truley believe it? You cant just right your own rules, that isnt spirituality, thats just flat out made up religion. addendum, i dont worship Yahweh, he is one of many gods, just to note I cant end, this chaps me so much. You can be Jewish, and worship Yahweh, but you do by the rules, if you want to get closer to Yahweh, practice Qubbalah, if you want to be Christian, they you go by the bible. If you want to be pagan, you follow your spirit. If you say that Gardner has no right to write the rules for Wicca, then Buddhist shouldnt listen to the teachings of Buddha, or Christians can throw Jesus' teachings out the window. Can I call my self a Confusian, but instead of following Confusious, follow Jesus instead? NO I CANT! choose one, pick a discipline, pick a god, and do it the way that god, or teacher said do it. If not, stop labeling it, and just make it up. Christ, ive got a headache now.
because I don't beleive in the bible, which I know sounds horrible, but I really think that the bible was written kinda in truth and then people opinions helped too, I think that because they didn't know much about wicca it scared them and it became evil, they all thought that wicca was devil worshiping then, maybe if they knew what they were talking about the bible would have protrayed wicca differantly, you never know.
how the hell could wicca be in the bible? its 50 years old! of course they didnt know what it was. How can you be "partly christian" and not believe their book? How can you worship Yahweh, but not believe in his rules, or his words? I personally think that the bible is nothing more than myths of a god (old testement) and the building of a new god (new testement) BUT im not christian or jewish in the least. I cant believe what you people say, and believe.
don't get a headache on my behalf, I'm not trying to argue with you I'm just giving my opinion, I don't think that ONE person is ever going to be right. how the hell do we know what we should truly believe, heck we wont untill we're dead. so why are we all arguing over the right way to be spiritual, it doesn't make sense. alright whatever witchcraft, or magick like stuff is in the bible, my goodness did i need to get technical, I fiqured you'd know what I was saying.
I just believe in God, the christian God is how I say it, but I think of him as a single higher power, so that's why I don't belive the bible.
Im just saying that is a god sets out rules, then he is the authority on it. If he says so, then thats the rule. you cant change that, if you mean god, as in the biblical god, then you are breaking his rule.
If you mean "God" as in the masculine creating force, then dont call it the christian god, the Christian god is Yahweh, just one of many credited with creating it all. He didnt. Do you even know who you are worshiping?
Heron, I would like to thank you for accually knowing what you are talking about. You put all of that much better than I could have.
why thank you wolf, i like what you said too. Ive developed a nose bleed now, lol and must be off to bed. You should read my journal, im writing a book of my rants lol.
who's to know that the bible was truly Gods word, a bunch of crazy people who heard voices could have written it, untill God speaks to me personally, I'm not going to trust what other people say he said. I feel what i am doing is the right thing for me, what may be right for you may not be for someone esle. why should we judge them. I really think that it's your intentions that matter most, if you are trying to be close to God in any way, I think it's better than not believing in anything at all.
I'm sorry but I've never even heard of the christian God as yahweh..... and maybe I'm just not explaining myself well which is obvious, I know who i worship and what I believe, I could care less if you do. I'm just trying to explain my opinion.
I give up, you've completly missed my point, like 10 times. The biblical god yahweh isnt "God" the creator that you are talking about. Get out of the box and see what im saying. Goodnight.
well maybe if you'd explain better I would, would you? cuz I'd rather learn from you rather than going away from this conversation frustrated.
GG, perhaps you would understand if you would study more aspects of the occult instead of simply calling yourself a wiccan because you like magick.
first of all I have been reading books about it and practicing since i was 12 it's not just because i like magick, don't be ignorant, and anyways I wasn't talking to you.
Ok, im sorry i got so impatient, but thats in my nature. I am very passionate. Yahweh is a cultural god, god of the Hebrew people, god of the old testement. He is the god with a capital G that you grew up hearing about. He got lots of credit for lots of things, because he had a good publicist. He isnt the creator, he is just another god. He is a god like Cernunnos is a god, or the Dagda, or Odin. A cultural god, a god of a people. There is a creator in this world, a something that created everything. We cant explain it. We can only know it the way we best can. That is where your point came across as confusing, and that is what I went off on. You are right, to know the Creator is a personal thing. But you say "God" as the Christian "God" and that isnt the same thing. They are indeed two different things. I worship the gods of my ancestors, my cultural gods, like the Hebrews worship Yahweh, and the Germans worship Odin. I also worship the Great Mother, the Mother of All beings on earth. She is a child of this creator like we are. But She is our Mother directly. I dont even bother with thoughts on the Great Creator, i believe we can never know it, and that it probably doesnt realize us either. Like my mother was born of her mother, and so on, we are all born of this creator, but the Earth is our Mother, and anything past that isnt important. Thats the way I see it. Dont give Yahweh the credit for your worship, he isnt worth it. Dont call the Creator the Christian god, because he isnt. Christians are worshiping Yahweh, and the one they credit as his son. You dont seem to be worshipping him, you just gave him too much credit. Im sorry for my frustration earlier, like i said, i am passionate.
Im glad that it all closed up nicely. When i rant, my points are all over, sorry =) But im glad that this all came around. Greengoddess, i am here for you if you have any questions like I said, anytime, i would love to know you.
