    Hey, everyone!

I'll just say now that I am HILARIOUSLY uneducated about the minute details of Wicca and I am only trying to brush the surface of the topic for a paper I am writing for a final college essay. No offense to anyone! I just find this religion incredibly intruiging.

I am currently enrolled in a religion and popular culture class, and for the final paper I decided to write about Wicca and how/if its followers use drugs as an aid in their practices in ANY way, and if not, why do you choose not to use them?

How is your community using the drugs, if any, as a tool to aid in your experiences within Wicca?

I'm also trying to get the surface details about what mysticism is to you, and whether or not anyone believes that mysticsm directly ties into Wicca in any way.

ANY and ALL help is so greatly appreciated! I'm using this forum as the main source of my research!

Thank you and please try and spread the word!

    -BGP :2thumbsup:

Wicca is based off of western ceremonial magic. It is not original nor is it ancient but it is a workable system. You won't find that Wiccans are more prone to drug use than anyone else as it is not required for their brand of magic. Ceremonial magic uses patterns and ritual to move power according to their will. It is earth based magic but they are not necessarily hippies or stoners.

Drug use and magic go hand in hand with more shamanic types of magic where it is built into the belief system.
