Why's It Acceptable For Someone To Rub A Pregnant Womens Belly

and say congratulations, but it's frowned upon if you grab the blokes balls and say well done?

 

I don't think it's acceptable. Personally I would never just assume I can rub a pregnant woman's belly but I know heaps of people do it.

I'd get smacked in the head if I touched a pregnant woman's belly... Then I would get arrested.

I don't think it's acceptable at all to rub a pregnant woman's belly - unless its your baby in there. However any time you want to fondle my balls and say well done be my guest.

 

I've never rubbed a pregnant womans belly. In fact, I don't even really like touching their belly when they tell me to so i can feel the baby move. It's weird. If it's not a body part or a person I would normally touch I don't find it appropriate just because they are pregnant.

Balls, on the other hand....I grab those all the time. It's my form of shaking a mans hand. It's my "how do you do?".

when my daughter was pregnant she wanted everyone to feel the baby kicking ! I used to do it all the time but I would feel uncomfortable doing that with someone who was not family , in fact I couldn't do it

Wrong!!! The majority of women hate it when people rub their belly, unless you're a family member or close friend who has been given permission to rub her belly. Otherwise, it's a violation of space, intimacy, and privacy.

Belly touching does happen from strangers. I come into contact with lots of elderly people in my job and when I was pregnant little old ladies were the worst. Did I hate it? Fuck yes! But I wasn't about to ruin a little old ladies day by being rude back to them, especially when I have to deal with them for the rest of the day.

Also when I was about 8 months pregnant an old man at work told me I looked like I could lose some weight!

Thank God no one ever tried to rub my preggo belly without my permission. They all know better though. I typically look nice but wear a look in my eyes that says... "You're cool and all but give me elbow room or ELSE".
