This is exactly why I don't subscribe to conspiracy, because there's no evidence for it. Some are more plausible than other's but there's no evidence, I tend to stick with facts and things I know to be true, anything else is grasping for straws.
There's no evidence for WHAT conspiracy? Are you saying conspiracies don't exist, because surely people are found guilty of conspiracy every year in actual courts of law.
Why should I care about what you think I sound like? To me you sound like one of the masses, yet you don't see me getting angry at you for having the opinions which have been given to you.
i could be all mystical and say one word "statistics", and that would be absolutely true for most of them. but i don't suppose by itself that would really tell you anything. beliefs? because the ego doesn't like accepting that it doesn't know everything. the way life is? there isn't any some one way life is. just lots of people who think they get something out of having you think there is. but the ways in life is experienced in different places, its the priorities people actually choose to live by, that add up statistically, to create the incentives that create the policies that create the conditions we then experience. do these things ever cross my mind? if anything they are what is on my mind, far too much of the time. cultures create standards. and a lot of what motivates how people act, which is what cultures are the sum of, comes from the kind of stories they are familiar with. science isn't about having answers, though it comes up with more useful ones then anything else, precisely because it can and does, correct itself. is doing so constantly. science in general terms, really means or refers to, any method by which, pre-judgement can be prevented from interfering with undistorted observation of actual evidence.
does this sound familiar; "If God wanted to he could make the fossils look millions of years old when the Earth is really only 6,000 years old." It's not what I think, it is what you proclaim to believe and it is exactly the same lame circular logic that you and countless others ridicule Christians for using, and rightly so because it asinine, it is neither reliable or realistic. But let me ask this PR, what benefits have you seen in your personal life from adhering to these conspiracies? Has it improved your career? I guess not if your a receptionist or whatever at an old folks home. Has it enriched your interpersonal relationships with others and helped you to really connect with someone? Again, probably not because "they" are part of the masses and controlled by "them". Have these theories helped you to meet any great women that could lead to a lifelong relationship? Again, doubtful because most great women would run the other direction when you started ranting and raving about "them" and what "they" are doing to control the world...MUHAHAHAHA! and if they don't run away, they are probably batshit crazy. Seem to me that your holding on to these conspiracies and allowing them to impact your daily life to the degree you apparently do is anything but healthy. You should stop it right now before you do some real permanent damage. so what value do these ideas actually hold seeing that you can not prove or confirm them beyond your and others paranoid imaginings?
Well, I have pondered the meaning of this existence many times throughout my life, and have wondered if it means being a debt slave whose sole purpose in life is to work, consume and accrue material things which ultimately mean squat in the grand scheme of things. Or perhaps it means being a sentient, thinking individual. Things like careers mean little to me. It just isn't in my lexicon as it is for most people. "Success" as it is deemed by society is kind of a joke to me, because it ultimately revolves around money and material possessions. I'd rather maintain my individuality and have my own opinions at the expense of all the worldly, materialistic bullshit we're supposed to pursue simply because it's what everyone else does and thinks is normal. You choose to live in the matrix. I don't. As far as women... I am not really into winning over women who aren't somewhat on the same wavelength as me. That's one thing that separates me from a lot of other men who only use women for sex. Unfortunately, few people I meet are on the same wavelength as me, and with women that number is even less. But I am not going to change who I am so people will accept me -- women or otherwise. Most of the relationships I have formed with women are over other interests I have like music, health and fitness. I have no desire to talk about things other people are not open to. Otherwise it's a waste of time. I usually keep my opinions to myself in my daily life, unless it is asked of me, or I know the other person is open-minded enough to have a real discussion. Most of the women I have dated never even knew about my worldviews, and I had no intention of trying to explain it to them. And I could not care less about anything as ridiculous as a lifelong relationship. To me that sounds a lot like marriage, and we all know marriage is a farce. And saying that the ideas I have cannot be proven is simply what you have chosen to believe, and is not testament to the truth. Telling me what I should do (supposedly for my own good) is something I find to be quite laughable. It's kind of like "nothing to see here... everything in the world is exactly as it seems. Now please go back to sleep because I cannot have other people challenging what I believe to be my reality." It's funny how something like "conspiracy theories" seem to rustle so many people's feathers when there is supposedly no truth to them. Hell, we have people in this thread claiming that conspiracies don't even exist. I find that to be rather... interesting.
In short, things are as they are because of the action - reaction principle. Just because you are aware that there is some kind of matrix doesn't mean you don't live in it anymore/escaped it. I do agree with this though: not buying into the material lifestyle and not caring about a career/'making it' definitely gives me the idea I made a conscious choice for the better (for me at least). But I don't see why I would say I have cut all ties with it, like you seem to imply about yourself, because we didn't so far.
You need to look into whatever shit is going on in your head that causes you to lose your cool when you are responding to PR’s posts? You found every angle from which to insult him. And for what? For stating his views concerning the question of “why,” which is the thread topic? The fact that you don’t see what that makes you look like is a testament to the extent to which you have allowed your adolescent nature to assume the leading role when you communicate disapproval. You don’t respond to what he said; you react. Regardless of how you believe this makes you appear, you’re coming across as a knee-jerk reaction personified. In fact, you sound exactly like a fundamentalist evangelical Christian who can’t help but speak out against the evil conspiracists when you think you have one in your sights.
Whatever Storch. I enjoy rattling PR's chain as he twists ANY and EVERYTHING into some evil plot to control the world and enslave humanity, blah, blah, blah....... it get's pretty old and has become fairly amusing to me. "You choose to live in the Matrix, I do not" Buuuuwaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, what an asinine remark and what would he have to say if the Matrix movies were never made? don't give me shit for calling him on these asinine theories at every chance, but it seems your brain is also addled by such nonsense, so you two can hang out and cry and bitch about all the evil plots unfolding and YOU GUYS are the only ones on Earth privy to what's REALLY going on...... give me a fucking break!!!!!! but I do digest all the stuff PR posts concerning diet and exercise, in that arena he is very knowledgeable.
You don't rattle my chain. It would appear I rattle your chain more than you rattle mine, and simply because I have a different view of things than you do.
no, not because you have a different view, because the view you hold has no basis in reality and is so convoluted as to render it silly and meaningless. There are lots of folks here who hold views that differ from mine, but they aren't all so ludicrous as the stuff you often go on about.
"Never underestimate the power of large groups of stupid people." The Christians, Jews and Muslims make up more than half of the world population. Their "beliefs" are dictating the reality of the world today. Everyone's "beliefs" creates their own reality to an extent. But large groups of like minded, overrules an individual. For instance, you can "believe" in peace, but when the majority "believes" in war, you're going to get war.
