I am a vegetarian, and one thing I have learned is you are never going to convert a meat-eater to vegetarianism with personal attacks.
If someone wants to go veg, that is a personal choice and a very personal journey.

Do I wish the whole world was veg? Of course! :)

One thing that does get lost in the arguments: Humans are animals too.

odonII,hope i won't need any treatments, but if I do,I'll choose some not tested on animals,it's very simple actually.

"Our bodies are designed to process meat.
Evidently we can live with out eating meat.
We have the luxury of choice."

Yeah, and our bodies are designed to process vegetables too.
Ok,but if we have this choice, to survive, have a better diet, and not kill any living beeing ,why do we still eat meat?I mean ,if you can do good to yourself,to animals and to planet ,I don't see any reason to argue, you're vegetarian too right? You're helping to improve this planet.

    I'm a vegan btw.
But I have to say, plants DO have feelings, and nervous systems. They are just different organisms to animals and so don't feel pain and such or express emotion in the same way we do. But plants have the ability to pick up positive/negative vibes, like us. They react to human contact in that they thrive better when physically touched and even spoken or sung to. I'm not one to eat animal products, for a few reasons but mainly that I just woke up one day and couldn't stomach the thought of eating another animal. I have to eat plants, grains, pulps etc to survive, but I don't agree with the way many of them are farmed, thats why I much prefer growing my own when I can so that I can tend to them nicely and only pick what's needed so they can continue to grow, until they die naturally.

Plants are legitimate lifeforms too, just because they dont scream when cut doesn't mean they dont feel it. I totally understand your views on plant life however, and agree that eating plants is more humane than meat, mainly because animals have a central nervous system the same as ours and I sympathise with the pain they must go through for a burger.

That again is another reason I stick to veg, because it is what it is, the fruit or vegetable produced is what I will eat, rather than it being processed and having the nutritional value basically drained from it.

I tried vegetarianism just because I wanted to see if I could do it. I was vegan for two and a half years, but then I decided to go back to eating meat.

I'm telling you I have respect for all life and am thankful for everything.
I am just another animal in this wonderful world. I know things have to die so I can survive and love them for doing it.

You should learn to love and respect all living creatures equally before you start criticizing other

one good reason is that more food could be raised per square acre if they were raising soy or some other vegetable/legume that humans could eat for protein than if they were raising cattle on the same acreage. Feed has to be grown for cattle which means land that could be used for growing food humans eat is instead used to raise food to feed animals that you could later eat for food. I learned something in biology that says the caloric content of an animal is only a 10th of what the animal has ever eaten. so you would have 10 times as many calories to eat if you ate the stuff you feed the animals instead of eating the animal you raise the feed for, if my basic knowledge of biology serves me well. there is also alot of pollution that results from raising cattle.

more info on this website (http://animalrights.about.com/od/animalsusedforfood/a/WrongGrassFedBeef.htm) but it is regarding grass fed beef not factory farms which are fucked in the first place. factory farms probably take up less acreage but that doesn't change the fact that you have to raise feed for the animals and again, they're fucked.

    How simple is it?

We don't. Others do. That's their choice.

It's really only a question of degree. I'm at about 6-7 you are at about 23-25.

1.I'm more respectful than you, because, unlike you, the killing of an animal doesn't benefits me(I don't take a life away)
2.Acordding to you ,u love the ''things'' that will die for you: would you die for feeding anyone you don't even know, against your will?
3.I don't criticize anyone,I'm totally fine with your opinion and your decision to eat meat,I know that there are millions of people out there that won't stop killing animals for food.

what do you think happens to all of those little mice and rabbits that live in the fields where your crops are grown, when those machines harvest the crops? they die. painfully.

eating large animals instead of vegetables would almost definitely result in less lives lost.

Crops still have to be grown and harvested to feed the animals killed for meat.
