I am not blaming anyone, nor am I attempting to fix anything, The thread asked “Why the shift to the right” I pointed out the obvious, the prices of fuel jumping with that the price of everything else along with it, food, clothing etc.
A shift to the right is not going to fix these problems, but you seem to advocate that those problems would be somehow "fixed" by a right wing government. But... then you say you aren't attempting to fix anything. Guess what? The "right" isn't attempting to fix anything either. They don't even have a platform anymore.
No I didn't, I even referenced what you said in what you quoted. (perhaps you missed that) So, you don't blame anybody, and you aren't attempting to fix anything, but somehow a shift to the right is the way to go, because.... ? (this is where you lose me, because the right wing isn't going to fix anything either)
But as long as idiots who vote think that a shift to the right will solve the country's problems (despite all evidence to the contrary) then they'll continue to elect parasites like Trump.
It is the "Why the shift to the right" thread... Your first post said it was because of gas prices. But nobody is to blame and nobody is going to fix it. So here we are.
Perhaps I should have made things more clear , the fuel prices are but one problem that people see everyday, And again “I am not blaming anyone nor providing a fix” As I was not attempting to get brought in a discussion on who’s at fault or what should be done.
True, but the more educated a person is (and I don't mean the more degrees they have but the more they have learned to think for themselves, think in a rational manner, do valid research, and reach logical conclusions) the more they will understand the reasons for the rising prices and less likely they will fall for simplistic explanations and the fear mongering of many who wish to use something like rising prices to push their own agendas. A free post high school education is one way hopefully to increase the level of rational thought of the general population. A simple high school education is no longer enough as a simple primary education was no longer enough at the turn of the last century.
Rising prices? Greed. Any situation on the worldwide or US national scene is seen as an opportunity to suck more bucks out of the public. They admit it in private.

I have never thought of fiscal discipline and fiscal prudence to be partisan ideas. How about centrist ideas, we will need a buy-in from lots of factions to strengthen our public fisc. The USA owes 30 Trillion ( on the books) its bi-partisan debt.
Two things about this, so bare with me... First: The only time this country ever got things done, meaningful things, was with bipartisan support... Actually meeting at the middle, not one side getting 95% of what they wanted and throwing a bone to the other side on a "must pass" bill. This rarely happens anymore. Second: On the universal scale of political ideologies "centrist" in the United States is already to the right of center... quite a ways from center, actually. Movement further the the right is moving in the wrong direction.
