when you make an independent free-thinking choice and act on it, everyone who hasnt made that choice thinks that youre telling them that they are wrong. no one like to be told that they are wrong, even if they know that they are. especially if they know that they are. im not saying that they are wrong, youre not saying that they are wrong, but they think that youre saying that they are wrong (probably cus they know that they are). so hippies tend to have made alot of these choices for themselves, so people resort to name calling to explain away your choices, to put you down, so that they fell better about themselve. eh, who cares. fuck em.
Because we represented all the things that freaked them out...free love.. doing your own thing...anti war..freedom from conventional life. I think a lot of people just resented the fact that we had the guts to live the way they WISHED they could, you know....maybe they are CLOSET freaks!!
Well the regular people (so there called) hate us because we think off the page. They think about the resent future and we think about the distant future. Also they think about whats good for themselves and we think about whats good for mankind. For them its about geting the most you can in the least amount of time no mater who it may hurt. But we like to think about the greater good thats why they hate us. VERY well put. I've come across many people that absolutely love how I dress and that I have chosen to live this lifestyle, etc., but I am not shutting out the fact that there are people out there that hate us. I've never been told out loud "damn hippie" or whatever but it could also be a thought aim thing. If someone ever says something rude to me about it, I'll either disreguard it and keep going or I'll shoot back at them with a smart ass remark....
