In my short 27 years of life I had already tried all of the other standard issue black male hairstyles..

Short/shaved, Cornrows, Afros, and even straightened pimp-style hair. Yes, I even had a jheri curl Oh yea, I even had a poofy, afro-puff pony tail for a few weeks.

Dreadlocks was/are the final frontier.

 

An ongoing obsession since ’97 … I blame Zack De La Rocha.

well ive always had an obsession with dreadies i dont know y. at first wen i was 14 and started mine it was because they looked sick. took those out cuz rents threatened to shave my head lol. second set i was grown up a bit more and realizing who i was and dreads were kinda a symbol of who i was. alas it was not time. i shaved those off. on my third set now and its perfect. dreads are a symbol of who i am and their ever changing way of knotting up and taking shape shows we will forever grow and change with the times.
