This pair of pants come with 3 spare buttons sewn inside the pocket. "Scratches head" is this something new, or has this always been going on?.. Ive never lost a button on a pair of pants before. When I notices its becoming loose, I sew is back on.. What the point of the other buttons if the person cant recognize the original button is loose? Dress shirts, I can understand the spare buttons cause there are many buttons that could fall off. And you might not notice.. However wouldn't you notice the button on your pants is falling off?.. Maybe falls off in laundry, Ill give you that, but 3extra buttons. Or is this the beginnings of S.O.S for someone locked in a sweatshop ??
i always eat the buttons that fall off dont know why...it just happens spare ones are good to have because they dont always come unsewn...sometimes they crack or break in the washer
the button is really not necessary anyway. one of my favorite jeans has been buttonless for at least a year; the belt does the job just as well as a button would have. the zipper is a different story. lost that on my work pants at one point, and there was no getting around the weird looks that day.

Maybe the factory overstocked with buttons and that's a way to get rid of them. But probably not. I noticed that on a shirt I bought recently they give you 3 spare buttons - but 2 of them are the smaller size for the button down collar, and only one in the cuff and front button size.
yeah, i noticed the smaller collar buttons too. The first I saw them , I though it was for my shirt to be buttoned at the bottom for extra security, but it wasnt..
ive used extra short carriage bolts to replace jeans buttons a few times...you have to remove them for drying though ..they make a racket in there
laughing here meagain...no button flies are not submissive enough for when you have to pee I think some of my jeans have buttons...I like those old...so bleached out and pale jeans...almost like a second skin feel
Reminds you? I am actually wearing a pair of 501s with a button fly as I type. I quite like them, and with jeans with a zip fly, I find the fly can go whilst the jeans are still good in every other way, and it's expensive to get a new fly put in. Far too fiddly a sewing job for me.
They're made so cheaply that the manufactures know they're going to fall off, that's probably why. =p
