The U.S. and Europe has found it hard to sway Africa to its side in its narrative against the Russian invasion due to various historical reasons.

Yeah, they still mad about colonialism. But the Africans should still think twice about who to bet on in this war. If russia destroys Ukraine's farming sector, the Africans could soon find themselves to be hungry. Really, REALLY desperately hungry...

Africa is dependent upon Russian wheat actually, and this is also a factor that may have influenced the pro-Russian policy of many african nations.

Recession hit Europe, which is dependent upon Russian oil and gas had also imported Russian wheat too. Russia is the world's largest supplier of wheat, and had harvested a record grain crop of 150 million tonnes, including 100 million tonnes of wheat, in 2022.

I would say here that both Russia and Ukraine, being the bread baskets of the world, is a crucial region for the world's well-being. So both risks of nuclear conflict as well as global hunger figure high due to this war.

This is an old conflict. Not really soviet union / russia, rather china. It's about influence, about exerting influence, political and economic influence, about natural resources. Both, the east and the west, has prevent that africa (ecxept south africa) build coal-fired power stations. This was an act to prevent an industrial revolution in africa and further an economically autonomous africa. In the year 2020/2021 the newspaper wrotes, that africa plan 400 new coal-fired power stations. Germany has reserved 10 billion of its 200 billion fund for the management of the corona crisis for an (civil) initiative to influence Africa. The military of germany was stationed in somalia (1990s) and is stationed in mali. France has a good connection to africa, because from the time of colonisation.

The Arab Spring )2010) was an result of a corn crisis (cost explosion), triggerd from bad harvest and forest fires in russia.

The only state, was used nuclear weapons in a war was the USA. The afghanistan war (1979-1989) of the soviet union cames to the point of using nuclear weapons or retreat — in considering, that the soviets think, radioactivity is not harmful to health, when you trink enough vodka.
